Sad news: Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Pham Xuan Hang has passed away.

The Party Committee, Board of Directors, Trade Union Executive Committee, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of:

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Hang (1950-2018)

Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Pham Xuan Hang passed away at 9:14 PM on April 1, 2018, at the Central Geriatric Hospital due to old age and frail health, at the age of 69.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Pham Xuan Hang was born in 1950 in Thai Binh. He has held the following positions:

  • Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
  • Former Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee.
  • Former Party Secretary and Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
  • Former Head of the Department of Management Science.
  • Former Deputy Head of the History Department.

The wake will be held from 7:30 AM to 9:15 AM on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 (corresponding to the 19th day of the 2nd lunar month of the Year of the Dog), at the Ministry of National Defense Funeral Home, No. 5, Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. The funeral service and procession will begin at 9:15 AM on April 4, 2018. Cremation will take place at the Van Dien Crematorium, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi. The burial will be at 11:05 AM on April 5, 2018, at the family cemetery in Thuong Hien Commune, Kien Xuong District, Thai Binh Province.

The school provided transportation for staff to pay their respects; the vehicle departed from the school at 6:45 AM on April 4, 2018.

The school has a bus to take staff to Thai Binh, departing from the school at 6:30 AM on April 5, 2018.
