On March 28, 2018, amidst the sacred atmosphere of the thousand-year-old Thang Long Imperial Citadel, 60 students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, participated in the launching ceremony of the volunteer team "Supporting Tourism in Thang Long - Hanoi in 2018". Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector) personally attended and encouraged the young people of the University.

Continuing the tradition and upholding the pioneering and volunteer spirit of young people in preserving, promoting, and publicizing the cultural and historical values of the capital and the country, this year, the Youth of the Faculty of Humanities deployed two teams with a total of 60 students from various training programs of the University. These are the core members of the Cultural and Historical Propaganda Club. They are all students with a strong sense of discipline and responsibility; they have the ability to communicate in foreign languages and a passion for volunteer activities for the community.

To motivate and encourage the spirit of the university's youth, Professor Nguyen Van Kim personally attended the launching ceremony, shook hands with, and encouraged the students. This is a great source of encouragement for the youth of the Faculty of Humanities to continue striving, developing, and spreading the spirit of humanism, pioneering, creativity, integration, and community service.

Following tradition, this year, the Humanities team will continue its outreach at two popular tourist sites attracting both domestic and international visitors: Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center.

At these locations, students will volunteer under the direct supervision of the Management Boards with specific tasks: promoting the cultural and historical values of the relics; providing tourism support at the relics and scenic spots; assisting in guiding domestic and international tourist groups; participating in tourism activities and events in the city...

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Tran Duc Hai (Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism) emphasized, "This activity aims to promote the pioneering and volunteer spirit of young people in participating in, preserving, promoting, and publicizing the cultural and historical values of the Capital and the country to the people nationwide and international friends."

Comrade Hai also expressed his gratitude to the universities in Hanoi that sent students to participate, and to the management boards of the historical sites for their cooperation in receiving the volunteer students.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Duc Tien (Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Youth Union) shared: “This activity is like the third semester for students. This is a great opportunity for them to put their knowledge into practical work.”

Comrade Tran Duc Hai and Comrade Nguyen Duc Tien presented flowers to the captains of the Humanities team.

Comrade Tien hoped that this activity would spread positive images of Hanoi students – dynamic, proactive, and ready to dedicate their abilities and knowledge to building a prosperous capital and country.
