Attending the opening ceremony were Colonel Duong Van Quy (Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Xuan District Military Party Committee, Political Commissar of the District Military Command), Lieutenant Colonel Pham Manh Tuan (Deputy Chief of Staff of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command).

On the side of the two schools, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Committee Secretary, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Political Commissar of the School's Military Command), MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy (Deputy Commander of the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Dr. Trinh Thuy Giang (Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Command of the University of Natural Sciences).

On behalf of the leaders of the two schools, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim shared about the important role of militia training in units in contributing to the protection of the country's political security, creating stability for development and regional integration. Over the years, the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences have effectively coordinated in this work and received trust and high appreciation from the Military Command of Thanh Xuan District. Continuing this tradition, the 2017 training session will be an opportunity to help members of the core militia platoon of the two schools consolidate new ideas about national security and defense work as well as receive training to improve combat skills from professional officers.

On behalf of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command, Colonel Duong Van Quy spoke highly of the organization of militia training of the two schools over the past years. This work has been thoroughly grasped and implemented in accordance with the directives and training plans of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command. In order for the training to be highly effective, comrade Duong Van Quy requested that militia comrades strictly comply with the regulations and study order in both the hall and the training ground, ensure the safety of people and weapons and strive to achieve high results in the final exam.

This training session had more than 60 members of the core militia platoon of the two schools participating. The militia members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are mostly young cadres, teaching at faculties and departments of the school. Therefore, they have more opportunities to promote and spread the awareness and knowledge learned through this training session in their own positions and in their daily work.

The main training contents include lessons on political awareness and combat skills such as: disassembling and assembling guns, shooting, throwing grenades, running with weapons, bandaging, etc. The training period lasted from June 16-30, 2017.
