Organizing militia training in 2017

Attending the opening ceremony were Colonel Duong Van Quy (Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command, Political Commissar of the District Military Command), and Lieutenant Colonel Pham Manh Tuan (Deputy Chief of Staff of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command).

Representing the two universities were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Political Commissar of the University's Military Command), MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy (Deputy Commander of the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), and Dr. Trinh Thuy Giang (Deputy Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Command of the University of Natural Sciences).

On behalf of the leaders of the two universities, Professor Nguyen Van Kim delivered a speech sharing the important role of militia training in the units in contributing to the political and security protection of the country, creating stability for development and regional integration. For many years, the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences have effectively coordinated in this work and received trust and high praise from the Military Command of Thanh Xuan District. Continuing this tradition, the 2017 training session will be an opportunity to help members of the core militia platoons of the two universities consolidate new ideas on national defense and security work, as well as receive advanced combat skills training from professional officers.

On behalf of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command, Colonel Duong Van Quy highly praised the organization of militia training at the two schools over the years. This work has been thoroughly implemented in accordance with the directives and training plans of the Thanh Xuan District Military Command. To ensure high training effectiveness, Colonel Duong Van Quy requested that the militia members strictly adhere to regulations and discipline in both the lecture hall and the training ground, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, and striving for high achievements in the final examination.

This training session involved over 60 members of the core militia platoon from both universities. The militia members from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are mostly young staff members working as lecturers in various faculties and departments. Therefore, they have ample opportunity to develop and disseminate the awareness and knowledge gained from this training session in their respective positions and daily work.

The main training content included lessons on political awareness and combat skills such as: disassembling and assembling weapons, shooting, grenade throwing, armed running, first aid bandaging, etc. The training lasted from June 16-30, 2017.
