In his welcoming speech, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the university's staff in building and developing the university into one of the leading institutions in social sciences and humanities training nationwide. Currently, the university has 518 staff members, including 376 teaching staff, 6 professors, 55 associate professors, 127 PhDs, and 176 master's degree holders; providing training in 17 undergraduate programs with over 5,500 students; 28 postgraduate programs, 29 doctoral programs with 2,022 postgraduate students and 168 doctoral candidates.

This is both an opportunity and a challenge for the University to affirm its role in training and disseminating social science knowledge to serve the country. With the efforts of the entire faculty and staff, the University has achieved accomplishments recognized by a series of prestigious awards and titles in the past year: the Third-Class Labor Medal for 6 collectives; Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister for 1 collective and 4 individuals...

Particularly in 2008, 11 teachers from the University were honored with the title of People's Teacher, and 16 teachers received the title of Excellent Teacher. To date, after more than 60 years of construction and development, the University has 24 People's Teachers and 50 Excellent Teachers. This is an exceptionally outstanding achievement, an invaluable asset and strength that very few universities in Vietnam possess.
