Institute of Journalism and Communication signed a strategic cooperation agreement on journalism training

With the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement, the female journalist and two journalism researchers will open a new direction in training journalism human resources - educating journalism resources through the combination of journalism training facilities and journalism museums. This is reflected in the fact that these units will support each other in teaching, research, building and developing cooperation programs (organizing exhibitions, exhibitions, etc.).

It is known that after nearly 6 years of implementing the Project to build the Vietnam Press Museum (since August 2014) and after nearly 3 years of the Prime Minister signing the decision to establish the Vietnam Press Museum, on June 19, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the museum will officially open its doors to visitors.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, journalist Tran Kim Hoa, Director of the Vietnam Press Museum, said, "Since its establishment, the Vietnam Press Museum has spent more than 1,000 days implementing the above-mentioned component projects. The Document and Artifact Collection Project has been and is continuing to be implemented; over 20,000 artifacts and documents have been collected and preserved at the museum's Warehouse. Of these, over 700 unique and rare artifacts and documents reflecting important events in the history of Vietnamese journalism have been researched, documented, and approved for display."

Accordingly, the Exhibition Project was implemented simultaneously with the Collection Project, and has now been completed. The exhibition content includes 5 parts: 1. Vietnamese press from 1865 to 1925; 2. Vietnamese press from 1925 to 1945; 3. Vietnamese press from 1945 to 1954; 4. Vietnamese press from 1954 to 1975; 5. Vietnamese press from 1975 to present.

The space for displaying the above artifacts is arranged on an area of nearly 1,500m2 and is fully exploited on different display areas: displaying by graphic solutions on the wall belt; by original and restored artifacts and documents in cabinets, platforms, shelves, racks, rotating shafts...; through radio - television - digital technology solutions to best serve the needs of the public when coming to the museum.

With these characteristics, in addition to the advantage of serving the visiting needs of the press public, the Vietnam Press Museum also has an advantage in training human resources in journalism. "Therefore, the signing between the Academy of Journalism and Communication and the Vietnam Press Museum is an opportunity to bring the heritage and pride of Vietnamese journalism to the young public, journalism students and those who will later replace us in preserving those heritages", Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication shared.

The Institute of Journalism and Communication (Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities) has shared and accompanied the Vietnam Press Museum since the very beginning when the museum received the decision to establish it in collecting relics, designing exhibition spaces, etc. "Along with that, we have proactively proposed to the museum to combine organizing practical experiences for bachelors and postgraduates within the framework of the Institute's training program. By learning through evidence, vivid journalism heritage from the beginning to the present, we hope that with the lessons you have received here, we will contribute to some extent in giving you more inspiration and love for the profession. And most importantly, clearly define for you the mission, the role of Vietnamese journalism in modern social life, and the responsibility of today's writers", Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong confided.

Through this signing, the two journalism training institutions and the Vietnam Journalism Museum hope to partly motivate future journalists to search for and collect relics, to contribute to building an increasingly developed and diverse museum.
