At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced to Mr. William Badger about the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. The school was officially established in October 2019, becoming the first high school to train elite students in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam. The school is affiliated with the system of high schools for gifted students of VNU and officially organized enrollment last July. Similar to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities wishes to establish and develop relationships and connections with advanced partners in the world such as Concordia International School Hanoi.
Mr. William Badger highly appreciated the internationalization policy of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. He said that Concordia International School Hanoi aims to balance the training orientation of natural sciences with social sciences, humanities, and arts in the curriculum. Therefore, Concordia is ready to establish a relationship with the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, considering this a direction that can open up many possibilities for cooperation and exchange in the future.
After the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu invited Mr. William Badger to visit the facilities, landscape and classrooms of the School to get an overview in order to plan the next directions of cooperation.
Founded in 2011, Concordia International School is a private international school, teaching English according to American standards at many levels from kindergarten to high school. The school's Hanoi campus is located in Dong Anh, Hanoi. The school has trained more than 450 students from many countries and territories. In the 2016-2017 school year, the school welcomed its first graduating class, one of whom was accepted to New York University, a top 30 school in the US.
