VNU–USSH and Nanning Normal University have had a successful cooperation in training activities. The achievements have affirmed that Nanning Normal University has a special position and is an important partner of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
In August 2023, a delegation from Nanning Normal University led by Prof. YANG XUMING visited and worked with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The two sides agreed that, based on the successful 2019 course for students of the Institute of Marxism, in 2023, the two sides will open more short-term training courses for Chinese lecturers, students, and postgraduates.
Accordingly, in December 2023, the Faculty of Philosophy, VNU-USSH organized a 2-month short-term training course for 08 postgraduate students from many majors of the Institute of Marxism, Nanning Normal University.
Students attending the course were taught by professors and lecturers of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities and VNU on the following subjects: Marxist-Leninist Philosophy, Scientific Socialism, and participated in seminars and scientific exchanges on: Philosophy in Natural Sciences, Cultural Philosophy, Ho Chi Minh Thought, Vietnamese Philosophical Thought. In addition, students also participated in many sightseeing and field trips to learn about the history, culture and people of Vietnam in many localities such as Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, the Museum of Ethnology, and Bat Trang Pottery Village.
Short course starts in early December 2023

Research and training in Marxist Theory is of utmost importance in the school system to nurture the next generation with the capacity to inherit and promote the quintessence of Marxism, apply it in various fields and contribute to the development of the country. Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized: the cooperative and friendly relationship between the two Universities of Social Sciences and Humanities and Nanning University of Education, China, as well as between the Faculty of Philosophy and the Institute of Marxism not only opens up opportunities for lecturers to exchange and share experiences in research and teaching about Philosophy and Marxist Theory, but also gives students and trainees from the two schools the opportunity to study and exchange at the other school, thereby expanding their knowledge, building international thinking and vision.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Hau Nhat Phu expressed his deep gratitude to the School Board and the lecturers of the Faculty of Philosophy. The enthusiastic teaching and support of the lecturers throughout the course left a deep and unforgettable impression on me and each student. The modern and friendly teaching methods; excellent expertise, profound knowledge; and deep understanding of Vietnamese traditional culture of the lecturers at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have brought us valuable knowledge and expanded our understanding of Vietnam.
I cannot forget the wonderful experiences in the past 2 months: such as the chess exchange event with professors of the Faculty of Philosophy; being able to join family meals, making Vietnamese spring rolls by myself; visiting many historical, cultural and scenic sites in Vietnam.
Associate Professor, Dr. Hau Nhat Phu expressed his wish and hope that he will soon return to Vietnam and continue to participate in more useful activities at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
On behalf of the students participating in the course, student Dai To Tri emotionally shared: The course ended but opened up new opportunities for students of the two schools in studying and scientific research. Although the course only lasted 2 months, it was truly a very meaningful time for us. We came from many different majors, but from the dedicated teaching and transmission of the teachers of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we have acquired a lot of very useful in-depth knowledge. After completing their master's degree, many students will certainly return to Vietnam and continue their PhD studies at the Faculty of Philosophy.
Dai To Tri student shared his wish to have more opportunities to participate in more training courses at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
In addition, we also improved our Vietnamese language skills, had the opportunity to visit and learn about the cultural traditions, cuisine, craft villages and unique culinary features of Vietnam. These are truly experiences that we will never forget. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Nanning University of Education for creating the opportunity for us to participate in this useful course; thank the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Faculty of Philosophy for their great support to make our course more successful than expected.

At the end of the Closing Ceremony, on behalf of the School Board of Directors, Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong awarded the Certificate of Course Completion to students of the Institute of Marxism, Nanning Normal University, China.
