VNU–USSH and Nanning Normal University have had a successful collaboration in training activities. The achievements have affirmed Nanning Normal University's special position and its role as an important partner of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
In August 2023, a delegation from Nanning Normal University, led by Professor Yang Xuming, visited and worked with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Both sides agreed that, building on the highly successful 2019 course for students of the Institute of Marxism, they would launch additional short-term training courses for Chinese lecturers, undergraduates, and postgraduate students in 2023.
Accordingly, in December 2023, the Faculty of Philosophy, VNU-USSH, organized a two-month short-term training course for eight postgraduate students from various disciplines at the Institute of Marxism, Nanning Normal University.
The trainees attending the course were taught by professors and lecturers from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on the following topics: Marxist-Leninist Philosophy, Scientific Socialism. They also participated in seminars and scientific exchanges on: Philosophy in Natural Sciences, Philosophy of Culture, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and Vietnamese Philosophical Thought. In addition, the trainees participated in many field trips to learn about the history, culture, and people of Vietnam in various locations such as Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, the Museum of Ethnology, and Bat Trang Pottery Village.
Short-term courses will begin in early December 2023.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong congratulated the students from the Institute of Marxism on completing the short-term course. She emphasized that research and training in Marxist theory is of paramount importance in the education system, aiming to cultivate a next generation capable of inheriting and developing the essence of Marxism, applying it to various fields, and contributing to national development. Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong stressed that the cooperative and friendly relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Nanning Normal University, China, as well as between the Philosophy Department and the Institute of Marxism, not only opens opportunities for lecturers to exchange research and teaching experiences in Philosophy and Marxist Theory, but also provides students from both universities with the chance to study and interact at the other institution, thereby expanding their knowledge base and developing an international perspective.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Hau Nhat Phu expressed his deep gratitude to the University's Board of Directors and the lecturers of the Philosophy Department. The enthusiastic teaching and support of the lecturers throughout the course left a profound and unforgettable impression on him and each student. The modern and engaging teaching methods; the excellent expertise and profound knowledge; and the deep understanding of Vietnamese traditional culture demonstrated by the lecturers at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities provided us with invaluable knowledge and broadened our understanding of Vietnam.
I can never forget the wonderful experiences of the past two months: such as the chess exchange event with professors from the Philosophy Department; participating in family meals and making Vietnamese spring rolls with my own hands; and visiting many historical and cultural sites and scenic spots in Vietnam.
Associate Professor Hau Nhat Phu expressed his wish and hope to return to Vietnam soon and continue to participate in more beneficial activities at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
On behalf of the students participating in the course, student Dai To Tri emotionally shared: "The course has ended, but it has opened up new opportunities for students from both universities in their studies and scientific research. Although the course only lasted two months, it was truly a very meaningful time for us. We come from many different majors, but thanks to the dedicated teaching and guidance of the professors from the Philosophy Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we have gained a lot of in-depth and useful knowledge. After completing our master's degrees, many students will certainly return to Vietnam and continue their doctoral studies at the Philosophy Department."
The student from the Great Master Tri Academy shared his desire to have more opportunities to participate in more training courses at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
In addition, we had the opportunity to improve our Vietnamese language skills, visit and learn about the cultural traditions, cuisine, traditional crafts, and unique aspects of Vietnamese food. These were truly unforgettable experiences. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Nanning Normal University for providing us with this valuable opportunity to participate in this course; and thank the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of Philosophy for their invaluable support in making our course a resounding success.

At the end of the closing ceremony, on behalf of the school's Board of Directors, Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong presented certificates of completion to the students of the Institute of Marxism, Nanning Normal University, China.
