At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU shared: As one of the key members of VNU, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is proud to be a pioneering training and research institution in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. In this school year, the university pays special attention to its community service function, concretizing research directions and providing policy advice to the Vietnamese government, agencies and departments from central to local levels based on the results of in-depth research by lecturers at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Notably, in recent times, IPAM has been successful in implementing research projects on socio-ecological transition and sustainable development. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dao Thanh Truong believes that, with the support and close relationship between the school and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, the two sides will continue to implement more projects to serve the community, affirming the position and humanity of VNU-USSH. Accordingly, the research will be edited and published as reference materials and textbooks for students and postgraduates at home and abroad.

Mr. Stefan Mentschel - Director of the Rosa Luxemburg Institute for Southeast Asia shared: The achievements between the Institute of Policy and Management, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in recent years have achieved practical results, contributing to the development of social work not only in Vietnam, but also recommendations for many other studies in the world.
In November 2023, the two sides successfully organized the 20th anniversary of cooperation, through which they reviewed the achievements in cooperation projects with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Southeast Asia - Representative Office in Hanoi on policy research, science and education activities, issues of ecological - social transition and sustainable development. Following the success of the achieved results, the SETY project signed this time will have practical contributions to students and postgraduates in Vietnam on green ecological transition, actively contributing to the process of planning and implementing policies, promoting socio-economic development and international integration of the country.

The project “Youth and issues of socio-ecological transition and sustainable community development” has been implemented since 2022 until now, is the result of cooperation between the Institute of Policy and Management and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and is an important premise for the two sides to continue implementing the project to enhance the capacity of young female students and trainees with a passion for scientific research (abbreviated as the SETY project).
The newly signed SETY 2024-2026 project is a continuation and development of the achieved project results with an expansion in both scope and activities. The project is expected to become an attractive destination for young people who are passionate about research and interested in environmental research issues, socio-ecological transition and sustainable development. The SETY Summer Camp within the framework of the project activities in 2024 will provide introductory content on the context and implementation of the NetZero goals in Vietnam and content to enhance green skills for students aged 15-35.
The Institute of Policy and Management (IPAM)was established under Decision 876 QD/XHNV-TC issued on April 16, 2013 by the President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). The Institute was upgraded based on the development achievements of the Center for Policy Research and Analysis (CEPSTA) - one of the centers ranked in the group of research and training support centers operating effectively with a long history of policy research and training in Vietnam since 1991. The mission of the Institute is to train, develop and provide human resources for management and experts in policy research and analysis, and management of the development of policy science and management. From 2018 to present, the Institute has been recognized as a Key Research Center at VNU level.

Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Southeast Asia - Hanoi Officeis one of the six major political organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany, whose main objective is political education for the promotion of social progress at home and abroad. The Rosa Luxemburg Office in Hanoi was established in 2009 with the mission of supporting the transformation of countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar into participatory, socially just and ecologically sustainable societies. The office currently cooperates with about 15 partner organizations, including policy research institutes, universities, NGOs, think tanks, government and parliamentary organizations.
