On the morning of April 6, 2016, a meeting took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, between representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, led by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University), and a high-level delegation from the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union. Also present were Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department, Dr. Tran Bach Hieu – Secretary of the University's Youth Union, and Ms. Luong Ngoc Vinh – Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Development Department.

The meeting took place in a cheerful and open atmosphere. During the meeting, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University – gave a general report on the situation of Lao students studying at the University.

The Party Secretary and Vice Rector highly appreciated the efforts of Lao students in their studies and integration at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in participating in the University's general activities. The Party Secretary and Vice Rector emphasized that: “The vast majority of Lao students studying at our university are outstanding, exemplary students who strictly adhere to academic discipline and the regulations of the Vietnamese education sector, the National University, and the University itself. They have made worthy contributions to the University's overall achievements and have helped to strengthen and further enhance the friendly cooperative relationship between the people of Laos and the people of Vietnam.”

Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Comrade Vilayvong Butdakham - Member of the Central Executive Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.

Following the remarks of the Party Committee Secretary and Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department – ​​shared the difficulties faced by Lao students in integrating into the learning environment at the University, with the biggest challenge being their age. However, the University always pays attention to and prioritizes Lao students, providing them with all necessary support and policies in a timely and comprehensive manner. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu stated that despite the difficulties, Lao students always strive to learn and improve their knowledge. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu acknowledged the efforts of Lao students in integrating, not only in academic activities but also in cultural, artistic, and sports activities.

Comrade Vilayvong Butdakham, Member of the Central Executive Committee and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao Youth Union, on behalf of the Lao delegation, expressed his joy at visiting and working in Vietnam and extended his sincere thanks for the warm and thoughtful reception from the School. He also expressed his confidence that the friendly cooperative relationship between Laos and Vietnam will continue to be strengthened, developed, and deepened.

At the end of the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Kim reaffirmed: “I sincerely hope that the Central Committee member – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, as well as the members of the delegation, with their responsibilities and high positions, can pay more attention and create more favorable conditions. If you entrust us with sending our students, graduate students, and doctoral candidates to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we will do our best to cooperate with you and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam. Together, we will contribute to promoting educational relations, as well as Vietnam-Laos relations in general.”
