On May 24, 2023, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan hosted a meeting with the JICA Representative Mission in Hanoi and Southeast Asia led by Mr. Tsuchimoto Amane (Representative of the JICA Office in Vietnam) as the delegation leader. Attending the meeting were Mr. Watanabe Rin - Deputy Director of the Southeast Asia Office in charge of Vietnam, Mr. Hatanaka Motoki - Southeast Asia Office in charge of Vietnam, Ms. Sasa Yuko - Chief Advisor, Consulting Company OCG, Mr. Ueno Shota - OCG Consulting Company.

On June 5, 2023, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan hosted a meeting with the Institute for Marxism Studies, Guangxi University, China led by Prof. Dr. Tu Tan Phap, who is the leader of the delegation in the framework of educational exchange cooperation.

(Nhân dân newspaper) On May 31, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Hanoi National University) in collaboration with the Thang Long Education Accreditation Center held a ceremony to award the accreditation certification for 7 university-level training programs.

On 5 May 2022, Dr Edward Lahiff gave a talk for the undergraduates of the Faculty of International Studies, VNU-USSH. Dr Lahiff shared his personal experience on studying and working in the field of development and provided valuable information about job opportunities for students. International development is a potential area for students in Vietnam. There are many areas of work that students can choose to follow, including health, education, humanitarian assistance, emergency aid, and programme management. In addition, they can work in the public sector, multilateral bodies (UN, World Bank, ASEAN), non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

On July 27, 2021, Cybermetrics Labs (under the Spanish National Research Council) announced the second Webometrics rankings of 2021. Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) ranked 959th among the world’s top 1,000 universities.

On June 28, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and his delegation visited VNU and announced the PM’s Decision on appointing Prof. Dr. Le Quan as VNU’s new president.

On July 9th, 2021, the Closing Ceremony of the 5th "Youth Innovation Competition on Lancang-Mekong Region’s Governance and Development" (YICMG) took place in the online format. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and leading representatives of the Office for  Cooperation and Development and Office for Academic Affairs represented the University to attend the ceremony.

On May 19th, USSH the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam, and other partners co-held a virtual thematic discussion to announce the results of the study "Roles, Performance and Contributions of Vietnamese Women Representatives During the 2016-2021 Period”.

On June 25th, 2021, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Andrew Hardy as the latter was about to end his term as Chief Representative of the French School of the Far East (EFEO) in Hanoi.

On June 15th, 2021, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of USSH) and representative of the Office for Cooperation and Development had an online meeting via Zoom with Mr. Nadav Eshcar, Ambassador of Israel to. 

On December 23rd, 2020, the Department of Indian Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, USSH held an international conference titled "Nationalism in India and suggestions for Vietnam".

On 15th April 2021, HSF cooperated with the JLU and USSH in organising a hybrid launch of the Country Report. At the launch, representatives from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and international organisations – Dr. Nguyen Van Hoi together with experts and researchers from different universities and research institutes discussed the findings of the Country Report.

On February 4th, 2021 at the UNDP Office in Hanoi, USSH and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam held a seminar to introduce the research results of the study "Roles of Women Representatives in Viet Nam’s Development During The 2016-2021 Term”.

On April 22th, 2021, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Dao Minh Quang Scholarship Award Ceremony was held for students with excellent achievements.
