- The thesis "The appearance of prose writing on the topic of homosexuality in Vietnam from the beginning of the 20th century to the present" has systematically and specifically synthesized and introduced related concepts and theories such as homosexuality, LGBTQ, phase deviation theory, homosexual feminist criticism theory...

- The thesis has outlined the history of writing on the topic of homosexuality in world and Vietnamese literature as well as introduced an overview of research works on the topic of homosexuality in Vietnamese literature.

- The thesis identifies and clarifies the development process of modern Vietnamese prose writing about homosexuality through two stages (before and after Doi Moi 1986) with approaches, trends, characteristics and outstanding phenomena.

- The thesis is a serious research work on the current status of receiving prose on homosexual topics and proposing ways to deal with this part of literature in schools today.
