- The thesis has clarified the connotation of the concepts of political innovation and international integration; explained the relationship between political innovation and international integration; pointed out the inevitability, influencing factors and basic contents of political innovation in the context of Vietnam's international integration.

- The thesis has summarized and analyzed the achievements and some limitations of the political innovation process in the context of Vietnam's international integration from 1986 to present, according to two content axes: innovation of political thinking and innovation of the political system; as well as pointing out the causes of achievements and limitations.

- The thesis has pointed out a number of issues and proposed basic directions to improve the effectiveness of political innovation in the current conditions of international integration of Vietnam.
