- Theoretical significance: The research results contribute to clarifying and demonstrating the theoretical basis of text linguistics in terms of coherence and coherence. Therefore, it has contributed to creating completeness in form and content structure for social sciences and humanities articles.

- Practical significance: The research results of the thesis show the linking characteristics (linking methods, specific linking means) and the outstanding coherence characteristics (in the relationship between topics - themes; argumentation relationships; relationships between sentences, paragraphs, and the structure of the entire text) in the articles of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Journal of Science - VNU. In the process of creating and analyzing articles of Social Sciences and Humanities, it is necessary to pay attention to the formal structure and the effectiveness of using linking means to create a coherent value for the text. In addition, the results of the thesis can be used as reference materials for research and teaching.

- Regarding to theory, the study has contributed to further clarify and prove the theoretical basis of linguistic literature in characteristics of scientific texts, cohesive and coherent features. The cohesion in sentences, paragraphs, and elements creates logic and coherence in semantic relationships. Therefore, it contributes to the completeness of forms and content structures of Social Sciences and Humanities articles.

- Regarding to practice, the study recognizes the cohesive features including the cohesions, the major cohesive methods. Besides, the study finds out some major coherences in the title - subject relationship, the coherence in arguments, the coherence in the order of sentences, paragraphs and the whole article of the Social Sciences and Humanities articles. Therefore, when we write and analyze the Social Sciences and Humanities articles, we need to consider the form structure, and the values ​​of the cohesive features to make the whole article have the coherence. With the above values, the results of this study can be used as references for the works of research and teaching.
