11. Summary of new results of the thesis:

- The thesis has surveyed the interaction in real conversations and in conversations in practical Vietnamese textbooks to identify the conversation structure, language characteristics of conversations, interaction mechanisms, communication behaviors, communication contexts, and communication characters appearing in conversations.

- The thesis analyzed and evaluated the way of constructing conversations, the communicative behaviors included in the conversations as well as the context and communicative roles chosen to construct conversations at different levels compared to real conversations.

- The thesis has surveyed the level of application of the textbook conversation into actual communication and the common difficulties of foreign students when interacting in conversation in Vietnamese and their opinions and suggestions about the conversation lessons in the textbook.

- The thesis has proposed solutions for compiling practical Vietnamese textbooks, especially the construction of interactive and realistic conversations, and proposed methods for teaching conversation skills to improve students' communication skills.

12. Practical application:

- Firstly, it is applied to the compilation of conversation textbooks to ensure both the rules and rituals of the conversation and the closeness to reality and natural communication for Vietnamese conversation.

- The second is to apply it to teaching practice to improve Vietnamese communication skills, meeting the learning needs of foreign learners to be able to communicate in Vietnamese as closely as possible like native speakers.

13. Further research directions:

Research issues related to spoken and written language, conversational grammar, modal issues, modern language, slang... to propose appropriate solutions for building and perfecting conversational textbooks and teaching Vietnamese conversation skills to foreigners.

-The thesis examines conversations in the Vietnamese curriculum to identify the structure of the dialogues, the language characteristics of the dialogues, the interaction mechanisms, speech acts, communication contexts, and participants that appear in the conversations.

- The thesis analyzes and evaluates the way the dialogues are constructed, the speech acts which are incorporated into the dialogue, as well as the communicative contexts and participants chosen to design the dialogue at all levels.

- The thesis examines common difficulties of foreign learners when interacting with the Vietnamese people and their ideas and suggestions on conversations in the curriculum.

- The thesis proposes solutions for the compilation of Vietnamese language teaching practice and proposes methods of teaching conversation skills to improve the conversational competence for foreign learners.

- Firstly, it is applied to the design conversations for the Vietnamese course books to both ensure the conversational rules and natural communication.
