Thesis information "Survey of the distribution and processing of basic syntactic structures in advanced Vietnamese language teaching textbooks for foreigners (Based on the corpus of advanced Vietnamese language textbooks from 1980 to 2008)" by HVCH Bui Boi Thu, majoring in Linguistics.1. Full name of student: Bui Boi Thu 2. Gender: Female 3. Date of birth: March 6, 1985 4. Place of birth: Lien Bat - Ung Hoa - Hanoi 5. Decision to recognize student No.: 2551/2007/QD-XHNV-KH & SDH, dated November 2, 2007 by the President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi 6. Changes in the training process: None 7. Thesis topic: Survey of the distribution and processing of basic syntactic structures in advanced Vietnamese language teaching textbooks for foreigners (Based on the corpus of advanced Vietnamese language textbooks from 1980 to 2008) 8. Major: Linguistics; Code: 60 22 01 9. Scientific supervisor: Associate Professor. Dr. Vu Van Thi; Currently working at the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language - University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi. 10. Summary of the results of the thesis: Chapter 1 of the thesis presents a number of theoretical issues related to the topic, which are issues related to syntactic structure: understandings of syntactic structure models, sentence components, and sentence classification according to structure - semantics, in which we have presented different views of language researchers on the issue of sentence classification. On that basis, we draw our own views and consider them as the foundation and research direction for the entire thesis. Chapter 2 of the thesis conducts a survey of the distribution and processing of basic syntactic structures in advanced-level foreign language teaching textbooks. In which, we conducted a survey and classified syntactic structures (including explained and unexplained structures, modifiable structures), then surveyed the processing of basic syntactic structures and finally made some comments on the distribution of structures in each lesson, each textbook, the number of structures in the textbooks, the explanation of structures, how to practice structures, in each content we have specific analysis and examples. Chapter 3: Based on the survey, we proposed some optimal solutions in providing and processing basic structure materials in building advanced Vietnamese teaching textbooks in terms of quantity, syntactic structure models, explanation methods, and how to practice structures in each part of the textbook. 12. Practical applicability In terms of practice, the research on the distribution and processing of syntactic structures that we propose can be applied to the compilation of Vietnamese textbooks for foreigners, to the design of teaching programs, helping learners to easily apply and construct many different sentences from those basic structures. 13. Further research directions: none 14. Published works related to the thesis: none

INFORMATION ON MASTER'S THESIS

1. Full name : Bui Boi Thu 2. Sex: Female 3. Date of birth: March 6, 1985 4. Place of birth: Ung Hoa, Hanoi 5. Admission decision number: 2551/2007/QD/XHNV-KH&SĐH Dated November 2, 2007 6. Changes in academic process: none 7. Official thesis title: Survey the distribution and processing of basis syntactic structures in Vietnamese language teaching textbooks for foreigners at advanced level (through Vietnamese language teaching textbooks for foreigners at advanced level from 1980 to 2008). 8. Major: Linguistics 9 . Code: 60 22 01 10. Supervisors: Prof.Dr. Vu Van Thi, Faculty of Vietnam Studies and Vietnamese, USSH 11. Summary of the findings of the thesis: In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the thesis consists of three main chapters: Chapter 1 of this thesis we have presented some issues related to theoretical topics, including issues of including issues related to the syntactic structure as the model of syntactic structures, sentence components, the classification of sentence according to structure – semantics. In which we have given the different views of researchers about the classification of sentence. On those basis, we give our own opinions and see theoretical topics will be the foundation and direction for the whole thesis research. Chapter 2 of this thesis surveys the distribution and processing of basic syntactic structures in Vietnamese teaching textbooks for foreigners at advanced level. In particular, we conducted a survey and classification of the syntactic structure (Including the structure is explained and not explained, the structure to the sea), then we examined the handling of basic syntactic structures and finally made some comments on the distribution of structures in each lesson, each textbook, the number of structures in the curriculum, explaining the structure, practicing structures, in each content with the analysis and concrete examples. Chapter 3: Based on the survey, we offer a solution in making and handling basic syntactic structure in building teaching Vietnamese textbook improving the quantity and structure of syntactic patterns, explanation, practicing structures in each part of the textbook. 12. Practical applicability: Practically, studying the distribution and processing of syntactic structure that we propose can be applied in the writing of the Vietnamese textbooks for foreigners, in the design of the curriculum, to help learners easy to apply, the sentence construction is much different from that basic structure. 13. Further research directions: None 14. Thesis-related publications: None
