Summary of the results of the thesis: Through the topic "Studying the pure Vietnamese and Sino-Vietnamese elements in Vietnamese idioms", we discovered many research issues that are scientifically meaningful, useful and interesting. 1. The thesis starts from studying the theoretical foundations related to the topic, then goes into depth to study the usage, artistic structure and content value in two types of Vietnamese idioms using Sino-Vietnamese elements and pure Vietnamese idioms. That direction helps us understand the origin and structure of Vietnamese idioms, make correct judgments about the function, role and operating mechanism of each type of element in the sub-types of idioms in which they participate. 2. The Vietnamese idiom repository includes pure Vietnamese idioms, idioms with Sino-Vietnamese elements and a very small number of idioms influenced by other languages. Of which, pure Vietnamese idioms account for a large number. 3. Idioms with Sino-Vietnamese elements include idioms borrowed in their original Sino-Vietnamese sounds and idioms with Sino-Vietnamese elements that have been Vietnamized. Sino-Vietnamese elements are Vietnamized in many different forms such as: Directly translating the meaning of Sino-Vietnamese idioms; adding or removing some words into the Sino-Vietnamese structure to make them understandable and easy to use with Vietnamese habits and thinking; changing the meaning or structure of Sino-Vietnamese idioms to create flexibility when entering the Vietnamese idiom store; Nominating Sino-Vietnamese idioms with simple everyday sentences... In general, the part of Vietnamese idioms using Sino-Vietnamese elements accounts for a very rich proportion in the Vietnamese idiom store. 4. Studying the pure Vietnamese and Sino-Vietnamese elements in Vietnamese idioms, we see the richness, flexibility, clarity, quintessence and wit of pure Vietnamese idioms and the elegance and symmetry of idioms with Sino-Vietnamese elements. 5. The pure Vietnamese element is the core and dominant element in the Vietnamese idioms, fully reflecting all aspects of the cultural and social life, labor and production of the Vietnamese people, creating linguistic characteristics, the quintessence of Vietnamese national culture. The Sino-Vietnamese element is used by the Vietnamese people as an official, popular, and pure part that cannot be replaced or lacking in the spoken language as well as in the written text of the Vietnamese people. The great values of the Sino-Vietnamese element have contributed to the diversity of the Vietnamese language, becoming an indispensable part, like blending into the bloodline of the Vietnamese language. 12. Practical applicability Our thesis initially studies the situation of use and compares the functional value and role of the pure Vietnamese and Sino-Vietnamese elements in Vietnamese idioms, partly contributing to the study of explaining the history of the Vietnamese language and the influence of the Chinese script language in the Vietnamese script language. 13. Further research directions The thesis is an initial research work on the influence of Chinese script in Vietnamese script. We hope to continue to delve into research and achieve results in this research direction. Idioms with Sino-Vietnamese elements include borrowing idioms of Sino-Vietnamese original sound form and idioms with Sino-Vietnamese elements which are Vietnamized. Pure Vietnamese is the key, steering in the stock of Vietnamese idioms, reflecting sufficiently the aspects of socio-culture, working and producing of Vietnamese people, creating the characteristics of the language, the essence of Vietnamese national culture. Sino-Vietnamese elements are used by Vietnamese people as a main, popular and pure that it is irreplaceable, or shortage in the spoken language as well as in writing due to there is often a shortage in the spoken language as well as in written documents of Vietnamese people. Applicability in practice (if any): Our thesis firstly understands the situation of using and comparing functional value, the role of pure Vietnamese components, Sino-Vietnamese in Vietnamese idioms, partly contributing into researching and explaining Vietnamese history and effect of Sino character language in Vietnamese character language. 13.Further research trends: The thesis is a commencing research works about the effect of Sino character language in Vietnamese character language. We hope to continue to go further to research and collect achievements in this research trend.
