Du Gia is a relatively new name on the tourism map of Ha Giang, but its potential for tourism development in general, and community-based tourism in particular, remains largely untapped. Besides its majestic natural landscapes and diverse resources, the Mong, Dao, and Tay ethnic communities also preserve traditional cultural features such as: the Coming-of-Age Ceremony, the New Rice Offering Ceremony, the Harvest Festival, the Gau Tao Festival, the New Year's Dance Festival, the weekly market, and the Love Market. Recognizing the importance of tourism to the development of Du Gia commune, this thesis has conducted research to identify new attractions for tourists, aiming to increase Du Gia's recognition and provide a basis for formulating more appropriate development policies.
Based on the established research framework, the study qualitatively analyzed the impacts of tourism on the people in Du Gia commune through secondary data. The results of this analysis served as the basis for constructing a SWOT matrix to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats aimed at improving the quality of community tourism in the future.
Based on survey results and in-depth interviews with locals and tourists, this thesis provides concrete evidence of the level of local community participation in tourism activities, assesses tourism motivations, and evaluates customer satisfaction with tourism services and experiences.
Through the analysis results, the thesis has presented accurate theories and information on the data and situation of community tourism in Du Gia commune. These results provide a basis for evaluating whether community tourism development here is truly effective, thereby suggesting direct directions and promoting sustainable tourism development.
