The thesis has addressed three important research areas:
The firstThis thesis explores and studies Pride and Prejudice – the two main themes of the work – helping readers better understand Jane Austen's views on love and marriage among the minor aristocracy in early 19th-century England. Most women considered marriage the ultimate goal of their lives and sought a husband with a substantial inheritance to secure their future. However, within that society, there were still strong, resilient women who dared to stand up for love and considered it the foundation of a long and happy marriage. These are the women Jane Austen created to promote the feminist movement, thereby bringing true love and equality to women.
MondayThis thesis has explored and researched the character of Elizabeth and other female characters in the work Pride and Prejudice. From this, we can see that:Pride and PrejudiceThis is a romantic love novel in which the female author Jane Austen wanted to convey her best aspirations, cherishing the dreams of young women and promising happy endings for beautiful, blossoming love. The work became a torch of "hope," kindling the flame of good and sincere love in contemporary society, and at the same time, it was a work that expressed modern perspectives and thinking, freeing women from the constraints of prejudice at that time.
TuesdayThis thesis has focused on exploring and researching the art of character development inPride and PrejudiceFrom the perspective of appearance and personality, it is precisely because of the crystallization, inheritance, and development of the literary essence of the 18th century, along with the blending of thought, ideas, and innovative linguistic artistry, that Jane Austen became one of the pioneering figures of Romanticism in the 19th century, making her one of the most influential and respected writers in English literature.
In short,Pride and PrejudiceThe female writer Jane Austen constructed a system of interwoven social classes and the inner worlds of many characters, especially the female characters in her stories. Here, each person has a different appearance and personality, different prejudices and prides, different beliefs and internal conflicts; however, under her pen, Jane Austen manages to synthesize all of them into a unified whole, harmonious, logical, and vividly realistic. This allows readers to naturally immerse themselves and be drawn into the narrative, the emotions of the characters in particular and the author in general. Readers feel as if they are witnessing a beautiful and vibrant English countryside, a London city with its distinct upper-class people, a society full of prejudice, and how the people within that society express their pride, their way of life, their inner feelings, their love, and their deepest hopes and desires.
Pride and PrejudiceLike a torch of hope illuminating the transitional period between two centuries, a time of contradiction yet unity between realism and romanticism, the author conveys his feelings, thoughts, and hopes to millions of readers over the past two hundred years.
