The thesis entitled "The Issue of Violence in the Healthcare Sector in Vietnamese Online Newspapers" has 3 chapters:
- Chapter 1: Some general theoretical issues regarding violence in the fields of healthcare and online journalism
- Chapter 2: Identifying the issue of violence in the healthcare sector in Vietnamese online newspapers
- Chapter 3: Some issues raised and proposed solutions to improve the quality of online journalism on violence in the healthcare sector.
This thesis surveyed news articles on violence in the healthcare sector across four newspapers: Health & Life, VnExpress, Zing News, and Tuoi Tre, from January 2015 to December 2020. Through this, it explored theoretical issues related to the role, function, and impact of the press in general, and online newspapers in particular, on disseminating information about violence in the healthcare sector; the Party's guidelines, the State's laws, and the healthcare sector's policies on healthcare and violence in the healthcare sector. The thesis focuses on analyzing and evaluating the content and form of information on violence in the healthcare sector in these four online newspapers. The author compiled an overview, then selected seven typical cases of violence in the healthcare sector for analysis and evaluation. The thesis assesses the successes and limitations of online newspapers in disseminating information about violence in the healthcare sector. Simultaneously, the thesis raises pressing issues. Based on this, fundamental solutions and specific recommendations are proposed for the four newspapers to improve the quality of online journalism regarding violence in the healthcare sector.
11. Practical applications:
This thesis also has practical significance for the author; the process of completing this research involves applying the theoretical framework acquired to study a specific issue, namely violence in the healthcare sector in Vietnam.
The research findings serve as a reference for the healthcare sector in utilizing media for communication efforts regarding violence in the healthcare field in Vietnam.
