First Congress of the Trade Union of the Administrative Block: Innovation, Unity, Responsibility

The first Trade Union of the Rectorate for the 2023-2025 term comprises the Training Department, the Political and Student Affairs Department, and the Foreign Language and Training Cooperation Center. During the term, the union membership experienced changes due to reassignments and job transfers in accordance with Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on continuing to innovate and streamline the political system's apparatus for effective and efficient operation. The Political and Student Affairs Department transferred its membership to the fourth Trade Union of the Rectorate Block from April 2025, and subsequently merged the Training Department and the Student Affairs Unit into the Training and Student Affairs Department from August 2025; the Foreign Language and Training Cooperation Center transferred its membership to the third Trade Union of the Rectorate Block. The Executive Committee of the Trade Union also reorganized its leadership team according to the personnel changes during the term.
As of October 2025, the Trade Union I of the Administrative Block has 28 union members, including 25 members from the Training and Human Resources Department, 1 member who is the Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors, and 2 members who are Vice Principals of the University. The total number of union members is 10 male and 18 female; union members hold the academic titles of Associate Professor - PhD: 3, PhD: 4, Master: 17, and Bachelor: 4. Currently, 2 union members are pursuing doctoral studies in Vietnam.
The Trade Union of the Faculty of Education, Unit I operates under the direction of the Party Committee of the Faculty of Education, Unit I, and the plans and programs of the higher-level Trade Union, as well as the unit's tasks. In all its activities, the Trade Union consults and coordinates with the management level, specifically the leaders of the Training and Human Resources Department and other levels of leadership. The Faculty of Education, Unit I has achieved many accomplishments during the 2023-2025 term.The Congress heard the Report summarizing the work of the Trade Union I of the Administrative Block for the term 2023-2025, the direction and tasks for the term 2025-2030; and the Report reviewing the term 2023-2025.
The Congress also heard additional comments from delegates on the summary report and the direction and tasks for the next term. The comments emphasized the importance of promoting the role of the Trade Union in enhancing the professional capacity of each union member; strengthening cooperative relationships and mutual support among union members to successfully complete professional tasks and improve their spiritual well-being. Furthermore, the Trade Union contributes to building a professional and friendly working environment so that each union member feels happy, committed, and dedicated to the development of the Trade Union in particular and the University in general. The Congress unanimously adopted a Resolution, which included a report summarizing and evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the Congress for the 2023-2025 term, and the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress agreed on specific goals for the new term, including: 100% of union members having firm and unwavering ideological stances, clear political views, and absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and the State. Strictly adhering to all policies and guidelines of the Party and the laws of the State, participating in campaigns, studying and learning resolutions as directed by the Party and the higher-level Trade Union. 100% of union members strictly complying with agency regulations, adhering to democratic regulations within the unit, overcoming all difficulties to successfully complete assigned tasks, and not violating the trade union charter. The goal is for 100% of union members to achieve the title of advanced worker, at least 15% to receive the title of outstanding worker at the grassroots level, and at least 15% of union members to be nominated for awards at higher levels. In her address to the Congress, Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - highly appreciated the contributions of the Trade Union I of the Rectorate and the individual union members who have made core contributions to the activities of the University's Trade Union in particular and the development of the University in general.
In the context of university autonomy and streamlined organizational structure, the role of the trade union organization is no longer limited to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees, but must become a force that works alongside the administration, proactively and creatively developing the individual capabilities of each union member, for the sustainable, happy, and humane development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Therefore, the Trade Union needs to change its organizational methods and innovate its activities to suit the development requirements of the school. Union members should not only fulfill their roles but also excel and become more professional to affirm their role within the school's structure.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 3 members: Comrade Dinh Van Nam, Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, and Comrade Tran Thi Thu Hien.
The Congress elected 7 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 32nd Congress of the University's Trade Union, term 2025 - 2030.
