With a history of more than 120 years, Hanoi National University aims to reach out and become the leading training and research center in the country and region and enter the group of 200 leading universities globally.
On the afternoon of August 20, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh worked with Hanoi National University on the implementation of Resolution No. 18 on streamlining the organizational apparatus and Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. Reporting at the meeting, the leaders of Hanoi National University stated: The school has completed the arrangement and streamlining of member and affiliated units; sharply reducing the number of focal points from 36 to 25, achieving a streamlining rate of more than 30%. Particularly, Hanoi National University has reduced the number of functional departments from 11 to 7. At the same time, the school established the Institute of Digital Training and Testing, the VNU-TIP High Technology and Innovation Park, and at the same time adjusted personnel and restructured the Party organization. In implementing Resolution 57, Hanoi National University has paid special attention to developing the “3-house” cooperation model: State – University – Enterprise. The University has established three key research institutes on semiconductors and advanced materials, quantum technology and artificial intelligence applied in sustainable development, thereby promoting research, transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological results. In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the innovation efforts of Hanoi National University in implementing Resolutions 18 and 57. He emphasized that the organizational arrangement is not mechanical streamlining, but must be "compact but refined", forming new models in strategic areas such as semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the effective connection between training and practice is a bright spot, when many businesses participate in placing orders and recruiting students right from school. He also affirmed that Hanoi National University, with its 120-year history, will continue to promote its pioneering role, meeting the expectations of the Politburo, becoming the leading university in the country and the region, aiming to be in the group of 200 leading universities in the world in the near future.
