Attending the closing ceremony, on behalf of the 358th AUN-QA Assessment Team were Prof. Dr. Rohaida Mohd. Saat, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, Head of the Assessment Committee, along with the assessors for four training programs from two universities.

Representing Hanoi National University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Director, and Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy - Director of the Institute for Educational Quality Assurance.
Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector, Dr. Pham Huy Cuong - Director of the Center for Educational Quality Assurance; leaders of departments and centers under the Rectorate, along with staff and lecturers from the Departments of International Studies, Psychology, and Sociology.
Representing the University of Science, VNU Hanoi were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Binh - Vice Rector; along with other faculty and staff of the university.
Over the course of two working days, with a highly urgent, serious, and scientific approach, the members of the evaluation team conducted research on self-assessment reports and supporting documents, as well as direct interviews with relevant parties, including: leaders of training units, lecturers, students, alumni, support staff, and employers; and on-site surveys of the facilities of the University of Natural Sciences, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Library and Digital Knowledge Center, the Student Support Center, and the VNU Hospital… to gain a comprehensive assessment of these training programs.
At the closing session, members of the External Evaluation Team presented detailed evaluation reports on each training program, highlighting strengths and offering recommendations for areas needing improvement to enhance program quality. Accordingly, the experts highly praised the strengths of the scientifically-conducted program development process with clearly defined learning outcomes; the regular evaluation and updating of training programs; the teaching staff consisting of leading experts who regularly receive advanced training; the increased application of information technology and digital transformation in teaching and learning (electronic lectures, digital data, modern teaching methods, etc.); and the regular and successful international research and academic exchange by both faculty and students. The experts emphasized and highly appreciated the community support activities of the Sociology and Psychology training programs.






The members of the Evaluation Team presented their reports, highlighting the strengths and achievements of the four training programs and recommending areas for improvement.
In addition, the external evaluation team also pointed out several areas that need to be improved in the future: the curriculum should focus more on improving foreign language skills and soft skills, and integration capabilities for students, especially in the context of moving towards the Industry 5.0 era; improve some conditions regarding facilities, create more spaces for self-study, creativity, practice, and experimentation for learners; strengthen connections with employers to support students during their studies and after graduation in order to find jobs that best utilize the knowledge and skills they have learned;

Speaking at the closing session, Vice Rector of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) Nguyen Hoang Hai stated that VNU has always been a pioneer and proactive in participating in the accreditation of training programs according to national and international standards, including AUN-QA. VNU is also the first higher education institution in Vietnam to establish a specialized unit for quality assurance (Institute for Educational Quality Assurance) to maintain and develop a comprehensive culture of quality. Increasing the number of training programs accredited according to international standards is also one of the important solutions for VNU to achieve its goal of being in the Top 500 in the world by 2030.

To date, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has had nearly 60 training programs accredited according to the AUN-QA standards. This demonstrates VNU's dedication to continuous positive improvement in education. This rigorous evaluation process not only reflects VNU's determination to provide a high-quality workforce for education in Vietnam, but also fulfills its commitment to continuously improving training quality to bring more benefits to students and society as a whole.
The recommendations from the external evaluation team's experts were truly invaluable and insightful, helping us to better identify areas for improvement to further enhance the quality of our training programs.
As a core unit of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) has always been a pioneer in accreditation and improving the quality of education. To date, VNU-USSH has 9 training programs that have been accredited according to AUN-QA standards, and 15 training programs that have achieved accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. In 2023, the university continued to evaluate 3 training programs according to AUN-QA standards (Psychology, Sociology, and International Studies) and accredited 3 more training programs according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (Information Management, Library and Information Technology, and Tourism and Travel Service Management).
