On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the school; Dr. Pham Huy Cuong - Director of the Training Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Sociology; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - representative of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Linguistics, along with the Quality Assurance Assistants of the two faculties of Sociology and Linguistics; all staff of the Training Quality Assurance Center.
On behalf of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance, Hanoi National University, there was the participation of Dr. Bui Vu Anh - Deputy Director and experts.
The training session aims to improve the professional capacity of the team of experts and officers in charge of university ranking work and to advise on the development plan of university ranking work of VNU-USSH. At the same time, to build a database of academic partners and employers to serve the connection activities between training units and recruitment agencies.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong said that VNU-USSH always attaches importance to ensuring university ranking criteria according to prestigious regional and world rankings.
Speaking at the opening of the training session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized the importance of ranking for higher education institutions in particular and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in particular. With the goal of developing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the direction of a research university, continuing to affirm its leading position in research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, striving to bring the university into the top 150 universities in Asia by 2025, into the top 100 universities in the continent by 2035 and on par with advanced universities (in the top 500) in the world, the university always attaches importance to ensuring university ranking criteria according to prestigious regional and world rankings. The fact that VNU-USSH in particular and VNU in general have good rankings in prestigious rankings will contribute to promoting the image, increasing the influence and social responsibility of the University.
Dr. Bui Vu Anh - Deputy Director, Institute for Education Quality Assurance, VNU, provided a lot of new information in university ranking work at VNU.
At the training session, Dr. Bui Vu Anh - Deputy Director, Institute for Education Quality Assurance, VNU provided information on VNU's ranking results in international prestigious rankings and the contributions of member units, directly under VNU, to the ranking results of VNU, including VNU-USSH. The Deputy Director also discussed the implementation plan of VNU's ranking work in the next ranking cycle and proposed and recommended developing strengths and improving weaknesses for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
VNU-USSH leaders and experts have been exposed to criteria for standardizing the process of implementing data collection and management activities; building a database of academic and employer partners and how to effectively and practically implement partner connection activities, contributing to the school's ranking results and bringing the best values to teachers and learners.
Analyzing the fields of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities that can contribute to the ranking by field, Dr. Bui Vu Anh emphasized that the two fields of Sociology and Linguistics are potential fields to be included in the expected ranking roadmap for the 5-year period (2023 - 2027) of VNU.
With the mission of taking the lead in training high-quality, highly qualified human resources; researching, creating and disseminating knowledge in Social Sciences and Humanities, serving the cause of national construction and defense and international integration, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has made many contributions to the achievements of VNU on many prestigious world university rankings. In the 2023 ranking, VNU's position in THE World University Rankings, the field of social sciences is in the top 601-800. Previously, the field of Social Sciences of VNU was ranked 501-600 in the world for the first time in the 2022 ranking.
