Innovating training and assessment methods at the undergraduate level at VNU-USSH

This is the content of the conference organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi this morning, August 14, 2026.

The conference was attended by the school's leadership, the leaders and assistants in charge of undergraduate training from the faculties/institutes, and the leaders and specialists from several functional departments.

The conference introduced several new management documents on higher education from the Ministry of Education and Training, providing information on innovations in training and assessment, focusing on general courses, specialized training in English, the impact of AI on assessment, and plans for implementing summer semester training…

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, gave the directive at the conference.

Dr. Pham Van Hue - Deputy Head of the Training and Student Affairs Department - presented a paper on innovation in university-level training and assessment.

The conference received discussions on issues such as ensuring a full-time faculty for the training program, innovating training organization to provide convenience for learners, and implementing online registration for practical internships. At the conference, Vice Rector Dang Hong Son directed the Training and Student Affairs Department to finalize the process of integrating doctoral training into the system management like undergraduate and master's training. The Quality Assurance Department should complete preparations to use academic integrity assessment tools in training from September 2026.

In addition, policies on the use of AI by lecturers, researchers, and students need to be issued; the assessment methods and weighting of course grades should be adjusted during the 2027 curriculum revision; and tuition fees should be calculated based on credits.

Innovating training and assessment methods is a regular activity of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to promptly meet the new requirements of higher education and the practical implementation of training. Through improving management processes, applying technology, strengthening academic integrity, proactively adapting to the impact of artificial intelligence, and adjusting student assessment methods, the University aims to improve the quality of training, facilitate learning, and ensure transparency, efficiency, and consistency in training organization.
