Opening up educational and scientific cooperation with Angolan universities.

Within the framework of the 7th session of the Vietnam-Angola Intergovernmental Committee in Luanda (Republic of Angola), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, signed a cooperation agreement with Agostinho Neto University to implement scientific and training activities in the coming period.
From March 26th to March 28th, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training, led a Vietnamese delegation to participate in the 7th Session of the Vietnam-Angola Intergovernmental Committee in Luanda (Republic of Angola).
During the working visit, the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, signed a cooperation agreement with Agostinho Neto University in the presence of the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam - Nguyen Kim Son and the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Angola - Maria do Rosário Bragança.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Professor Pedro Magalahães, Rector of Agostinho Neto University, signed a cooperation agreement between the two universities.
Accordingly, in the coming period, the two universities will focus on developing plans and effectively implementing key activities: acting as a driving force to promote the exploitation of scholarships provided by the Vietnamese Government to Angolan students under the Agreement between the two Governments on cooperation in the field of higher education and training; strengthening the exchange of experts and supporting Vietnamese language teaching activities for students and overseas Vietnamese in Angola; organizing scientific conferences to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Angola and Vietnam...
Witnessing the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam, Nguyen Kim Son, expressed his hope that the joint efforts of the two universities would achieve positive results, becoming a model and a focal point for promoting training and scientific activities between the two countries in an increasingly practical and effective manner.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will award two full scholarships to students from Agostinho Neto University. In addition, the University will fully utilize the 10 scholarships offered by the Vietnamese Government to Angolan students to attract students from Angolan universities to study here.

Agostinho Neto University is named after the national hero, leader of the Angolan national liberation movement from 1961-1974, and the first President of Angola (1975-1979). It is a public university offering multi-level (bachelor's, master's, and doctoral) and multi-disciplinary programs, many of which are closely related to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, such as Linguistics, Literature, History, Political Science, Tourism Studies, International Studies, etc.
