At the seminar, delegates listened to Dr. Dao Minh Quan – Deputy Director of the Center for Training and Application of Information Technology of the University – share basic content on skills in building teaching scripts, applications of lectures on LMS, and experiences in designing multimedia lectures. The seminar was lively with interaction from union members who are lecturers from various units. The content of the seminar focused on sharing key solutions for building multimedia lecture outlines and experiences in managing classrooms in online teaching.

Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the University's Trade Union - emphasized: The application of information technology in teaching is currently an inevitable trend in the education sector, especially in the context of the increasingly complex Covid-19 pandemic. Because whether we like it or not, we still have to carry out normal teaching and learning activities. Students cannot stop learning, and teachers cannot stop teaching. And to have effective and engaging lectures, each teacher must actively innovate to perform their duties well, and the skill of building multimedia lectures to suit online teaching and learning methods is a basic and necessary skill for every teacher.

At the seminar, the lecturers also shared the advantages and challenges of applying information technology in teaching. Accordingly, the advantages include: Information is combined with multimedia (images, sound, video, charts, etc.), making information reception incredibly rich, diverse, and highly effective; developing thinking and imagination skills, enhancing awareness, helping students easily grasp processes and phenomena naturally; students can easily access a vast source of knowledge in all different fields through the internet; and creating enthusiasm in learning.

.
However, instructors also face many challenges such as: Not all lectures are suitable for computer-aided design; some specific lectures are easier for both students and instructors to understand using traditional methods; implementing this method of lecture design poses difficulties for many instructors when they first start; the misuse of information technology at the wrong time and place can compromise the quality of teaching; and the evaluation of teaching effectiveness still needs further standardization...
The aim of this seminar is to find ways to mitigate these difficulties and challenges. In addition, it serves as a forum for teachers to share their experiences and work together to apply information technology more effectively in their lessons, contributing to improved teaching quality. Following this seminar, the school will conduct a series of in-person training sessions for teachers in the near future.
