That was the message of Unity Carnival 2024 - a special event organized by the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi on December 15th.
Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam - Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, shared the message of the event.
The 2024 International Cultural Festival is a celebration of the cultures of various nations, as well as the cultural exchange between Vietnamese and international students. This is an annual event held every New Year, meticulously prepared by the staff, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language.
Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu – Deputy Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, presented gifts from the university to the students.
Representatives from the camps received awards from the organizing committee and the school.
International students from many countries were excited and surprised to participate in Vietnamese folk games such as bamboo pole jumping and throwing the ball, showcase their skills with betel nut preparation, participate in a fashion show, and solve crossword puzzles about Vietnamese and world heritage. Twelve booths, set up by international and Vietnamese students, displayed unique cultural products and traditional dishes from various countries: China, Russia, the USA, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, Laos, Cuba, Germany, Italy, France, Slovakia, and more. In addition, students from around the world also participated in Vietnamese cultural experiences such as calligraphy and fortune-telling using the Tale of Kieu.
Students from around the world enthusiastically participated in activities at the Unity Carnival 2024 camp.
The Quan Ho folk song performance by American students and Vietnamese lecturers surprised and delighted the audience.
The skillful dance moves and dazzling costumes of the Chinese students captivated the audience.
Faculty members from the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language joined in the song while wearing traditional costumes from various countries around the world.
Slovak folk melodies were emotionally recreated on the stage of the 2024 International Cultural Festival.
International students brought performances showcasing the unique cultural identities of various countries to the stage of the 2024 International Cultural Festival. Their skillful dances, vibrant costumes, fresh expressions, and especially their love for their homeland were all beautifully conveyed throughout the event. The "International Cultural Festival 2024" concluded in a warm atmosphere of camaraderie between teachers and students, and among friends from many different parts of the world who gathered here – the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Unity Carnival also opened up many opportunities for international and Vietnamese students to understand the traditional cultures of other countries, opportunities to interact, learn, and support each other on their academic journey in Vietnam, as well as to spread the cultural identities of nations around the world.
The performances, a harmonious blend of Vietnamese and international students, brought the Unity Carnival 2024 stage to life.
