The Institute of Journalism and Communication Training signs strategic cooperation agreement on journalism training.

With the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement, the female journalist and two journalism researchers will open up a new direction in training journalism personnel – educating journalism resources through the combination of journalism training institutions and museums specializing in journalism. This is demonstrated by the fact that these units will support each other in teaching, research, and the development of cooperative programs (organizing exhibitions, displays, etc.).

It is known that after nearly 6 years of implementing the project to build the Vietnam Press Museum (since August 2014) and after nearly 3 years since the Vietnam Press Museum was established by a decision signed by the Prime Minister, on June 19th, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day, the museum will officially open its doors to visitors.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, journalist Tran Kim Hoa, Director of the Vietnam Press Museum, said, "Since its establishment, the Vietnam Press Museum has spent more than 1,000 days implementing the aforementioned component projects. The project to collect artifacts and documents is currently underway and continues to be implemented; it has collected over 20,000 artifacts and documents, which are gathered and preserved in the museum's storage facility. Among them, over 700 unique and rare artifacts and documents reflecting important events in the history of Vietnamese journalism have been researched, documented, and reviewed for exhibition."

Accordingly, the Exhibition Project, implemented concurrently with the Collection Project, has now been completed. The exhibition content consists of five sections: 1. Vietnamese journalism from 1865-1925; 2. Vietnamese journalism from 1925-1945; 3. Vietnamese journalism from 1945-1954; 4. Vietnamese journalism from 1954-1975; 5. Vietnamese journalism from 1975 to the present.

The exhibition space for these artifacts is arranged over an area of nearly 1,500 square meters and is fully utilized across various display methods: graphic displays on wall panels; original and restored artifacts and documents in cabinets, pedestals, shelves, rotating displays, etc.; and the use of broadcasting, television, and digital technologies to best serve the needs of the public visiting the museum.

With these characteristics, in addition to its advantage in serving the needs of the journalistic public, the Vietnam Journalism Museum also has an advantage in training human resources in journalism. "Therefore, the signing of the agreement between the Academy of Journalism and Communication and the Vietnam Journalism Museum is an opportunity to bring the heritage and pride of Vietnamese journalism to young people, journalism students, and those who will later preserve this heritage," shared Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

The Institute of Journalism and Communication Training (Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities) has been a partner and collaborator with the Vietnam Journalism Museum since its establishment, contributing to the collection of artifacts and the design of exhibition spaces. "In addition, we proactively proposed to the museum to organize practical experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Institute's training program. By learning through vivid examples and journalistic heritage from its origins to the present, we hope that the lessons the students have received here will contribute to inspiring them and fostering their love for the profession. Most importantly, it will help them clearly understand the mission and role of Vietnamese journalism in modern social life, and the responsibilities of writers today," Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong explained.

Through this signing ceremony, the two journalism training institutions and the Vietnam Journalism Museum hope to inspire future journalists to search for and collect artifacts, contributing to the museum's continued development and diversity.
