Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Pham Bao Son attended and delivered the opening speech for the training course.
Attending the opening ceremony were leaders from the Office, the Personnel and Organization Department, the Center for Human Resource Forecasting and Development, the Center for Digital University Administration, and officials including heads of departments/divisions responsible for information technology, IT specialists, and IT system users of VNU.

Deputy Head of the Personnel and Organization Department, Truong Viet Ha, shared that the fourth industrial revolution is a revolution in smart management and production, based on breakthrough achievements in technology, contributing to the development of digital technology. The digital transformation is being strongly and comprehensively promoted, bringing many benefits to agencies, organizations, businesses, and people, but also posing many challenges and potential risks to information security and safety. Improving the quality and ensuring information security and safety for information systems is identified as a priority and a central issue in the operation of information technology systems and the digital transformation process; at the same time, training specialized personnel in information security to respond to the increasing risks and challenges of information security when implementing digital transformation at Vietnam National University, Hanoi is more urgent than ever.

Vice Rector of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Pham Bao Son, delivered the opening remarks at the training course.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training course, Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) Pham Bao Son said that this was the first time VNU had organized a training course to enhance knowledge on information security. The purpose of the training course is to improve the effectiveness and quality of information security in the operation of information technology systems and the digital transformation process within VNU, meeting the requirements of development in the new context. Recent information security incidents at large companies in Vietnam have significantly impacted all aspects of production, business, and social life. Vice Director Pham Bao Son added that information security is a crucial issue that needs attention, but investment in this field is often limited. The Vice Director emphasized that investment in education and science and technology is a long-term investment, therefore it is necessary to ensure compliance with regulations and respond to potential information incidents that could affect training and scientific research activities.

Engineer Nguyen Minh Quang, an officer from the Information Security Department of the Ministry of Information and Communications, shared with trainees a specialized topic on network information security, legal regulations; guidance on compliance with legal regulations and strengthening network information security at different levels.
The training course consists of two classes, divided according to the target audience, level, and nature of the work of civil servants and employees, specifically:
- Class 1 (Basic knowledge and skills training) took place on August 9, 2024, for approximately 100 participants including heads and deputy heads of departments/divisions responsible for information technology; IT specialists of the units; and IT system users of VNU.
- Class 2 (Advanced Knowledge and Skills Training) will take place on August 10, 2024, for approximately 70 participants, including heads and deputy heads of departments/divisions responsible for information technology and IT specialists from units within VNU.

In this training course, participants will study fundamental and advanced topics in the field of information security, including:
Grade 1Focus on contents such as: (1) Network information security, legal regulations; guidance on compliance with legal regulations and strengthening network information security at different levels; (2) Information security, network security at VNU and immediate actions needed.
Grade 2The content of the topics delves into practice and solves problems: (3) Ensuring information security for network infrastructure and operating systems; (4) Ensuring information security for applications. In addition to in-depth theoretical topics, in Class 2, the Organizing Committee arranged practical content "Exercise on exploiting website vulnerabilities and DDOS attacks" to raise awareness and responsibility, and at the same time develop the capacity and experience in coordinating and responding to network information security incidents. The exercise program helps IT specialists at various units have the opportunity to practice their skills, learn incident response procedures, and thus be able to quickly and promptly handle real network attacks.
