Korean Ambassador visits the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: A bridge to develop Vietnam-Korea relations.

On May 9th, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), held a meeting and working session with the Ambassador of South Korea.
Also attending the meeting were Dr. Le Thi Thu Giang - Head of the Department of Oriental Studies, Dr. Luu Tuan Anh - Head of the Department of Korean Studies, and representatives from many units under the university.
Among the guests were Mr. Choi Young Sam - Ambassador of South Korea to Vietnam; Mr. Choi Jae Jin - Chief Representative of the Hanoi office of the Korea Foundation (KF); and Ms. Kim Ji Soo - Second Secretary of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan respectfully invites Mr. Choi Young Sam, the Ambassador of South Korea to Vietnam, to become a visiting lecturer at the university.
During the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is always proud to be a close partner with many research and training institutions in South Korea. VNU-USSH is the first university in Vietnam to research and train in Korean Studies at both undergraduate and master's levels. Each year, the Korean Studies department, under the Faculty of Oriental Studies, trains 60 students; the university's lecturers study and conduct research at many major universities in South Korea, instilling in students a passion for learning and researching the language, culture, and history of the beautiful "Land of Kimchi". VNU-USSH students always receive special attention and are sought after by Korean employers. This affirms the university's prestige in training high-quality human resources.
The South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam shared that visiting the Hanoi University of Humanities was like a "train" that brought him back to his student days.
Expressing his delight at having the opportunity to visit and work with the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and to directly interact with VNU-USSH students, Mr. Choi Young Sam emphasized that Vietnam and Korea have made strong progress in technical, technological, and economic exchanges in recent years, but the values ​​of cultural and social exchange are essential for developing relations between the two countries.
Therefore, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities plays an extremely important role in contributing to academic exchange, teaching cooperation, research, and promoting cultural exchange and people-to-people interactions between the two countries.
Professor and Doctor presented a commemorative gift to the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam.
Ambassador Choi Young Sam pledged to always support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, connecting the university with many universities and research institutions in Korea, as well as introducing more Korean visiting lecturers to work and conduct research at the university. Ambassador Choi Young Sam also expressed his hope that the university would create favorable conditions and give special attention to Korean students who are currently studying or will be studying here in the future.
Following a cordial meeting with representatives from the school's administration and leadership, Mr. Choi Young Sam had a discussion with students from the Korean Studies department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
During the exchange, Mr. Choi Young Sam shared with the students information about the Vietnam-Korea relationship as well as prospects for cooperation and exchange between the two countries. The Korean Ambassador was particularly impressed with the students' extensive knowledge of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and their special interest and understanding of prominent areas of cooperation between the two countries today, such as AI technology and semiconductors.
