On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there was the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University, along with representatives of the Department of Cooperation and Development, Department of Scientific Research Management, Department of Training; representatives of the Department of Languages and the Department of Management Science.
On the side of Yunnan Agricultural University, there was the participation of Prof. FAN Yuanhong - Vice Principal of the school along with representatives of functional departments and leaders from training faculties.
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU emphasized: Cooperation and exchange with global partners is the main trend and priority of the university. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities especially values partners from China in training, scientific research and student and lecturer exchange.
Previously, in June 2023, Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh led a working delegation to visit and work with universities and research institutes in Yunnan province, China on opportunities for cooperation in exchanging staff, co-organizing seminars and research on ethnic minorities in the two countries.
Through the signing ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh hopes that the two sides will have more specific discussions on the conference implementation plan, thematic research directions and specify cooperation directions in the coming time.
Prof. FAN Yuanhong - Vice President of Yunnan Agricultural University was delighted to meet Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh again and have the opportunity to work directly in Hanoi. During his transfer to Cambodia and Vietnam, the board of directors of Yunnan Agricultural University paid special attention to research and training methods in agriculture, humanities and languages.
Prof. FAN Yuanhong affirmed: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a particularly important partner, with the strength of being a leading unit in policy research, Marxism, ethnic minorities and languages.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Cuong - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences shared: The Tam Nong policy is one of the focal points of Vietnam, which the faculty pays special attention to and researches intensively. With the trend of agriculture accounting for nearly 40% of the national GDP, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Cuong hopes that through research and seminars co-organized on the above topic with Yunnan Agricultural University, Vietnam will better understand and learn many experiences in the process of implementing the Tam Nong policy in China.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Hong Hanh - Vice Head of the Faculty of Linguistics shared: The Faculty of Linguistics has been training many students from China, and in the second semester of this year, it is expected to welcome 20 more students from partner schools to study. With more than 20 years of experience, the Faculty of Linguistics is committed to ensuring the quality of training and hopes to have many opportunities to welcome many Chinese students to study at the School of Humanities.

At the signing ceremony, the two sides agreed on student exchange programs as well as credit recognition. In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will implement a Vietnamese language training program specializing in Agriculture for foreign students and open more short-term training courses. The two sides also plan to develop joint research directions and co-organize a workshop on ethnic groups and the Tam Nong policy in 2024.
