Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, emphasized that the two schools have had a long-term and close cooperative relationship for many years. The working delegation of the Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences, China to work with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the current context is extremely important.
With 80 years of development, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has affirmed its position as a pillar in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities of the country. In addition to the three basic scientific pillars of Literature - History - Philosophy, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a pioneer in training and research in the fields of social sciences and is the cradle that nurtured many famous politicians of Vietnam.
Currently, the school has 28 bachelor's programs, 36 master's programs, and 32 doctoral programs. The school's team of scientists is very large, and projects and topics at the national and international levels in the field of social sciences all have contributions from VNU-USSH scientists. The school is also the unit implementing many policy consulting programs for the Vietnamese government.
The school currently has partnerships with more than 300 universities and research institutes in countries around the world, expanding the school's cooperation network in activities. In particular, the school attaches importance to cooperative relationships with Chinese universities and research institutes and attracts a large number of Chinese students and trainees to study at VNU-USSH. At its peak, there were about more than 1,000 international students and trainees studying at the school, including up to 4 Chinese ambassadors to Vietnam who were students of VNU-USSH.
“The strategic and comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China has been affirmed over time. This is a good opportunity for VNU-USSH and GASS to develop a sustainable and effective cooperative relationship,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, emphasized the opportunities for close cooperation between VNU-USSH and GASS.
Professor Chen Lisheng - President of the Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences, China shared that GASS is a comprehensive research center in Guangxi. The four main research areas of the Institute are History, culture; Southeast Asia and international issues; Research on regional strategy and economy; Sinicization of Marxism-Leninism. The Institute's special feature is research on Southeast Asian countries, especially Vietnam. Over the years, GASS has had many research results on Vietnam such as: Vietnam - China friendship, research on President Ho Chi Minh.
“We are looking forward to finding practical cooperation opportunities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in many fields, especially issues such as research on the good relationship between Vietnam and China in the past, and strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries in the current context,” Professor Chen Lisheng expressed.
Professor Chen Lisheng - President of the Guangxi Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, China shared his desire to open new directions of cooperation with VNU-USSH.
At the meeting, the two sides had many similar views on research cooperation in each side's areas of strength.
Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is the host of the research conference on President Ho Chi Minh and hopes that the Guangxi Provincial Academy of Social Sciences will contribute new research at this conference.
In addition, the two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation in Vietnamese language training for Chinese students studying in Vietnam as well as new research directions in linguistics.
The two sides also discussed and agreed on comprehensive cooperation in training, student and lecturer exchange as well as scientific research results.
