The delegation of Kunming College of Metallurgy included Mr. Chen Li Sheng - Dean of the Academy of Environment and Chemical Industry, Mr. Li Bo Shu - Dean of the Academy of Continuing Education, Ms. Wang Yan - Dean of the Academy of Foreign Languages, Ms. Song Qun Ling - Vice Dean of the Academy of Minerals and Metallurgy, Mr. Ma Zhi Cheng - Vice Dean of the Academy of Mechanical Engineering and Ms. Zhang Yu Ting - Head of the Vietnamese Language Research Department, Academy of Foreign Languages.
At the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities welcomed the delegation of Kunming College of Metallurgy to Vietnam. As a pioneering research and training institution in the fields of social sciences, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a close partner of many partners in the world. In particular, the school has established cooperative relations with 60 universities and research institutes in China. Chinese students and trainees study at VNU-USSH in many different fields in programs from bachelor's to master's, doctoral, and short-term training programs.
With 17 faculties, 3 research centers and 1 research institute, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has diversity in training and research, combining classic and modern elements, between basic sciences and highly applied sciences.
Mr. Chen Li Sheng - Dean of the Institute of Environmental and Chemical Industry shared some information about Kunming Metallurgical College: The school was founded in 1952, taking training and research in natural sciences as the foundation for development. With more than 42 majors, more than 1,100 lecturers and nearly 400 professors, Kunming Metallurgical College is recognized as the leading training institution for metallurgy and minerals in China, and is also a key educational institution in Kunming Province.
Within the framework of the business trip to many countries, promoting international cooperation and exchange, Kunming Metallurgical College wishes to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to implement plans on training talents, lecturers and transferring knowledge.
Discussing more about training foreign students at the Faculty of Linguistics, Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Cam Lan shared: As a trusted address for international students coming to study in Vietnam, every year the Faculty of Linguistics welcomes about 300 international students to study under the 3 + 1 program. With more than 20 years of cooperation in the Vietnamese language major with universities in China such as Nanjing University of Foreign Studies, Shanghai University, Sichuan University, Yunnan University of Nationalities,... the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is proud to be the place that has trained 70 - 80% of Vietnamese language teachers in China.
At the meeting, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Kunming Metallurgical College had a preliminary discussion on the initial terms of the MOU framework. Accordingly, the two sides will promote student and lecturer exchanges, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will support lecturer training in professional skills and Vietnamese language. The delegation also expressed their desire to soon welcome lecturers from VNU - USSH to work in Kunming, bringing Vietnamese language and culture to students at Kunming Metallurgical College.
