On the morning of November 17th, in preparation for the commemoration of the Charter Day of Teachers and Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20th, 2020), the US Ambassador to Vietnam, Daniel J. Kritenbrink, visited the Temple of Literature – National University (Hanoi). Professor Pham Quang Minh (former Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and students from the International Relations major (Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities) welcomed and accompanied Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink.

The US Ambassador listened as Dr. Do Thi Huong Thao (History Department) shared the history of the 82 stone steles listing the names of doctoral graduates from various examinations at Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam.
The students, along with the Ambassador, offered incense to pay their respects to the educator and cultural figure Chu Văn An.
Professor Pham Quang Minh presented a T-shirt from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to the US Ambassador.

The US Ambassador expressed admiration for the long-standing tradition of studiousness among the Vietnamese people, as well as for the renowned figure Chu Van An, and extended best wishes to Vietnamese teachers on the upcoming November 20th Teachers' Day.
The meeting with the Ambassador at Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam was a practical and beneficial extracurricular activity for students of the Faculty of International Studies.
