During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced Mr. Wilfried Eckstein to the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. Officially established in October 2019, it is the first high school in Vietnam to train elite students in social sciences and humanities. The school officially held its entrance exam in July 2020, which included an English exam with relatively good results from the candidates. With a comprehensive and internationalized education policy, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities places great emphasis on foreign language training for its students. In addition to English as the main foreign language, the school plans to teach German as a second foreign language. With this aspiration, the school hopes to receive cooperation from the Goethe Institute in supporting the teaching of German to its students.

Mr. Wilfried Eckstein expressed his sincere gratitude for the thoughtful reception from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and highly appreciated the idea of establishing a specialized high school for social sciences and humanities. Currently, many universities in Germany offer training programs in the field of social sciences and humanities. Therefore, the Goethe Institute in Vietnam is ready to support the specialized high school for social sciences and humanities in implementing German language teaching, aiming to create opportunities for the school's students, potential students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to pursue higher education in Germany.
