Strengthening cooperation between VNU-USSH and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On October 23, 2024, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) had a working session with Mr. Le Duc Thien, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on strengthening cooperation in the coming time.
At the meeting, Prof. Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed the close connection between the school's training activities and diplomatic activities. He emphasized the achievements in organizing programs honoring Vietnamese language and culture, thanks to the trust of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has taken advantage of its cooperative relationship with more than 200 international partners and experienced lecturers, sending experts to many countries every year to teach Vietnamese and support the Vietnamese community abroad.
The principal also said that the school has successfully built a 6-level Vietnamese language proficiency framework according to European standards, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training. In the coming time, the school will expand the online Vietnamese language teaching program with advanced courses with diverse content to serve not only the overseas Vietnamese community but also spread Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Deputy Director Le Duc Thien congratulated the school on its successes and shared that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an important partner, providing high-quality human resources for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with nearly 100 officers who have studied and are studying postgraduate programs at the school. He also emphasized the importance of equipping officers with not only foreign languages ​​but also in-depth knowledge of culture, country and people, especially in the fields of Oriental Studies, International Studies, Tourism Studies, etc.
Mr. Thien affirmed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to be a priority partner in training and providing high-quality personnel for the diplomatic sector. In addition to recruitment, the two sides also agreed to cooperate in areas such as scientific research, organizing international seminars and scientific forums.
Both sides pledged to soon implement the discussed cooperation contents, in order to ensure the quality of human resources for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the future and expand job opportunities for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
