Strengthening cooperation between VNU-USSH and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On October 23, 2024, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), held a meeting with Mr. Le Duc Thien, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the future.
During the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed the close connection between the university's training activities and diplomatic activities. He emphasized the achievements in organizing programs honoring the Vietnamese language and culture, thanks to the trust of the Ministry of Education and Training. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has leveraged its cooperative relationships with over 200 international partners and its experienced faculty to send experts to many countries annually to teach Vietnamese and support the Vietnamese community abroad.
The principal also stated that the school has successfully developed a 6-level Vietnamese language proficiency framework based on European standards, which has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training. In the future, the school will expand its online Vietnamese language teaching program with advanced courses covering diverse content to serve not only the Vietnamese community abroad but also to spread Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Deputy Director Le Duc Thien congratulated the university on its successes and shared that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an important partner, providing high-quality human resources for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with nearly 100 officials having completed or currently pursuing postgraduate programs at the university. He also emphasized the importance of equipping officials not only with foreign language skills but also with in-depth knowledge of culture, country, and people, especially in fields such as Oriental Studies, International Studies, and Tourism Studies.
Mr. Thien affirmed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to be a priority partner in training and providing high-quality personnel for the diplomatic sector. Besides recruitment, both sides also agreed to cooperate in areas such as scientific research, organizing international conferences and scientific seminars.
Both sides committed to promptly implementing the discussed cooperation contents, aiming to ensure the quality of human resources for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the future and expand job opportunities for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
