
During a meeting with the delegation from the Center for Overseas Study Services - Ministry of Education of China, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the University Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi – stated that the university attracts a large number of high-quality students and trainees annually. Currently, VNU-USSH has over 11,000 students enrolled in nearly 100 training programs from bachelor's to master's and doctoral levels. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities attracts 1,000 international students each year, with approximately 80% coming from China, studying in various fields (such as Oriental Studies, Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, etc.). Among more than 200 international partners across continents, VNU-USSH has signed memoranda of understanding and implemented cooperation activities in research and training with prestigious universities in China, such as Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Peking University, etc.
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also implements many international student exchange activities, sending approximately 500 students per year to study and conduct research in various countries, especially China.
Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam hopes that the cooperation between VNU-USSH and CSCSE will bring many opportunities for academic and research exchange for students and lecturers.
Highly appreciating the effectiveness of cooperation activities between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and universities, research institutes, organizations, and businesses in China in the past, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam hopes that the cooperative relationship will continue to make new strides, not only bringing more value to students but also contributing to strengthening the strategic and friendly relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Ha Kien Huy, Deputy Director of the Center for Overseas Study Services - Ministry of Education of China, expressed his honor to visit and work at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Admiring the achievements that VNU-USSH has attained in its 80-year history since its founding as a university, Mr. Ha Kien Huy hoped that the two sides would have many effective cooperation activities in the future.
The Deputy Director in charge of CSCSE emphasized that, in the context of the two countries' increasingly deep cooperative relationship in many fields such as economics and culture, the demand for high-quality human resources is growing, and the role of prestigious universities like the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in training high-level human resources is increasingly affirmed.
During the meeting, both sides shared information on the potential for broad cooperation in student exchange and credit recognition between VNU-USSH and universities in China. Furthermore, with their experience and capacity in organizing large-scale events, VNU-USSH is ready to cooperate in organizing higher education exhibitions of Chinese universities in Vietnam, as well as participating in activities introducing the university in China. This is a great opportunity to increase understanding and cooperation in research and training between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and major universities and colleges in China, as well as bringing practical value to students studying abroad in both countries.

Center for Overseas Study - Ministry of Education of China The Council for State-Owned Studies for Education (CSCSE) is a unit under the Ministry of Education of China, playing a crucial role in managing foreign students in China and Chinese students studying abroad (both overseas and returning). It is responsible for recognizing diplomas and certificates for Chinese students upon their return from overseas studies. CSCSE provides study abroad services (visa, airfare, and other services for public university students; pre-study abroad training); conducts international cooperation in study abroad and related fields, promotes educational exchange and student mobility; and provides services to domestic colleges and universities to introduce high-quality foreign resources and cultivate international talent.
