Many opportunities to study abroad in China for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU

This is the content of the discussion and agreement between the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and the representative of the Center for Study Abroad Services - Chinese Ministry of Education (CSCSE) in the working session this afternoon, October 31, 2024.
Receiving the delegation of the Center for Overseas Study Services - Ministry of Education of China, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi said that every year, the school attracts high-quality students and trainees to register for admission. Currently, the training scale of VNU-USSH is more than 11,000 students with nearly 100 training programs from bachelor to master and doctoral levels. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a destination that attracts 1,000 foreign students to study each year, with about 80% of them being international students from China, studying in many diverse fields at the school (such as Oriental Studies, Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, etc.). Among more than 200 international partners in the continents, VNU-USSH has signed memorandums of understanding and implemented cooperation activities in research and training with prestigious universities in China, such as Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Peking University, etc.
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also implements many international student exchange activities by sending about 500 students/year to study and research in other countries, especially China.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam hopes that the cooperative relationship between VNU-USSH and CSCSE will bring many opportunities for exchange of study and research for students and lecturers.
Highly appreciating the effectiveness of cooperation activities between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Chinese universities, research institutes, organizations and enterprises in recent times, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam hopes that the cooperative relationship will continue to have new developments, not only bringing many values ​​to learners but also contributing to tightening the strategic and friendly relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Ha Kien Huy - Deputy Director in charge of the Center for Overseas Study Services - Ministry of Education of China expressed his honor when visiting and working at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Admiring the achievements that VNU-USSH has achieved in the 80-year history of the tradition of the University, Mr. Ha Kien Huy expected that the two sides will have many effective cooperation activities in the coming time.
The Deputy Director in charge of CSCSE emphasized that in the context of the two countries having increasingly deep cooperation in many fields such as economy and culture, the demand for high-quality human resources is increasing, the role of prestigious universities such as the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in training high-quality human resources is increasingly affirmed.
At the meeting, the two sides shared information about the possibility of open cooperation in student exchange and credit recognition between VNU-USSH and universities in China. In addition, with experience and capacity in organizing major events, VNU-USSH is ready to cooperate in organizing higher education exhibitions of Chinese universities in Vietnam as well as participating in activities introducing the school in the host country. This is a great opportunity to increase understanding and cooperation opportunities in research and training between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and major universities and institutes in China as well as bringing practical values ​​to international students of the two countries.
Representative of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Trinh Dai Vi - Education Counselor (2nd from right) shared that the Embassy is always ready to support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in connecting and implementing cooperation activities with universities and educational institutions in China.
Overseas Study Service Center - Ministry of Education of China (CSCSE) is a unit under the Ministry of Education of China, playing an important role in the management of international students in China, Chinese students studying abroad (studying abroad and returning), responsible for the recognition of degrees and certificates for Chinese students returning from studying abroad. CSCSE provides study abroad services (providing visas, air tickets and other services for public students; training for students before studying abroad); carries out international cooperation in study abroad and related fields, promotes educational exchanges and student mobility; provides services for domestic colleges and universities to introduce high-quality foreign resources and train international talents.
