The Mansfield-Luce Asian Scholars Network was launched in 2019 by the Mansfield Foundation, with support from the Henry Luce Foundation. The program aims to build and foster a community of scholars and researchers on Southeast and Northeast Asia from the United States through training, networking, research, and senior mentoring. It also facilitates in-depth and close dialogue between U.S. scholars and experts interested in Southeast or Northeast Asia and scholars and researchers from Asian countries.
During today's meeting, scholars from the Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network met with administrators, researchers, and experts from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The meeting took place in a roundtable format, allowing scholars from both sides to exchange ideas and share opinions on several academic areas of mutual interest related to Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. This also connected many scholars and research experts from the United States and Vietnam specializing in these two regions, as well as Asia in general. The experts from the United States were also very interested in listening to the researchers and lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities share information and experiences on the University's research projects in various fields, and discuss topics of mutual interest, not only in Vietnam but also in other countries in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.

Concluding the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan once again thanked the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation and scholars from US universities for their interest in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized: "During today's meeting, the experts had a very open exchange on scientific issues of mutual interest, raising many interesting scientific questions; from which we can set directions for future cooperation between the two sides. Immediately after today's meeting, the University will appoint contact persons to establish specific cooperation plans."
