The Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network was launched in 2019 by the Mansfield Foundation, with support from the Henry Luce Foundation. The purpose of the program is to build and nurture a community of Southeast and Northeast Asian scholars and researchers from the United States through training, networking, and research activities, as well as high-level mentoring. The program also facilitates deep and close dialogue between U.S. scholars and experts interested in Southeast or Northeast Asia and scholars and researchers from Asian countries.
During today's working session, scholars from the Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network met with administrators, researchers and experts from the USSH, VNU to discuss bilateral cooperation opportunities. The meeting took place in a roundtable format for scholars from both sides to exchange and give opinions on a number of academic fields of mutual interest related to Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia, thereby connecting many scholars and experts researching these two regions as well as Asia in general from the United States and Vietnam. Experts from the United States were also very interested and listened to researchers and lecturers from the USSH, exchanging a lot of information and experience in implementing research projects of the University in many fields and discussing contents of mutual interest, not only of Vietnam but also of countries in the Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia regions.
Concluding the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan once again thanked the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation as well as scholars from US universities for their interest in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized: In today's meeting, the experts had a very open discussion about scientific issues that both sides were interested in, suggesting very interesting scientific issues; from there, there were directions for the cooperation plan between the two sides in the coming time. Immediately after today's meeting, the University will send contact points to contact and develop specific cooperation contents.
