Happy Birthday to Teacher - Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc

The ceremony was honored to welcome Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc and many generations of his colleagues and students during his 49 years of teaching at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
During half a century of dedication to education and scientific research, Professor Ha Minh Duc has left a huge and valuable legacy for modern Vietnamese literature and literary criticism. Not only is he an erudite researcher, the Professor is also the first head of the Faculty of Journalism, Hanoi National University - the predecessor of the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities today. With his passion and dedication, he has trained many generations of excellent students - those who continue the academic path, those who have been and are actively contributing to the cause of education, journalism, culture and literature and arts of our country.
“For the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Ha Minh Duc is a living symbol of the wisdom and ethics of teachers. When mentioning him, we mention an exemplary example of a simple, pure lifestyle, a tireless working spirit and a deep love for literature, journalism and national culture. His works, from essay collections, literary criticism books to research works on portraits of Vietnamese journalists, not only contribute to building a theoretical foundation for our country's literary science but also expand the space for dialogue between tradition and modernity, between individuals and communities, between academia and life." - Professor Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized in his opening speech at the ceremony. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan expressed that the ceremony was not only an occasion to celebrate the longevity of a respected person, but also an opportunity for generations of teachers and students to pay tribute to a life devoted to the science and education career of Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc - who has always accompanied, supported and inspired the school throughout its development journey.
At the age of 90, Professor Ha Minh Duc is still a vibrant scholar, still writing, still attending conferences, still exchanging, giving opinions and inspiring future generations. In today's society, when moral values, humanity and identity are facing many challenges, people like him are a valuable spiritual support, a role model that needs to be preserved, honored and learned from. And especially, the 107th book titled "The Teacher and the Pages of Books" was published on the occasion of the Professor's 90th birthday. This is a special publication, containing valuable information about the Professor's life and Professor Ha Minh Duc himself wrote, organized the articles and worked with the publisher to launch the book. Stories about the noble teaching profession during the 49 years of standing on the podium of a teacher, stories about the profession during more than 65 years domestically and internationally of a veteran journalist Ha Minh Duc... were recreated by the professor in a special honorary lecture. At a rare age, he still passionately teaches about Ho Chi Minh's ideology in culture with a clear, enthusiastic and intelligent voice like the old days when he stood on the podium passionately teaching to many generations of students.
Within the framework of the event, the exhibition displayed valuable books and photos, giving viewers a complete picture of the life dedicated to education, science and journalism of Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc. Generations of students and colleagues together remembered and respected the teacher with adjectives such as "Teacher of teachers", "Exemplary teacher of modern Vietnamese culture and art", "Teacher of books" ... with deep love and respect.
