(ND) National scientific conference "Uncle Ho with education, education with Uncle Ho": A guideline for comprehensive educational innovation

The national scientific conference “Uncle Ho with education, education with Uncle Ho”, organized in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi National University, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, aims to practically celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Even more special, the Conference was held at the school where one of the first Decrees signed by President Ho Chi Minh was(October 10, 1945), right after the birth of Vietnam, it was Decree No. 45 on the establishment of a Faculty of Arts University in Hanoi - the predecessor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi today.
The workshop attracted the participation of many prestigious experts and scientists, with 120 presentations.

Consistently implement Ho Chi Minh's ideology, methods and style on education and training
Speaking at the workshop, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized:"President Ho Chi Minh - The genius leader of our Party and people, The great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, Hero of national liberation, World cultural celebrity, Outstanding soldier of the international communist and workers' movement, Beloved father of the Vietnamese people's armed forces. He left our Party, our nation, our people, today's and future generations an extremely noble legacy, which is: Ho Chi Minh Thought, Ho Chi Minh's morality, Ho Chi Minh's style and Ho Chi Minh era".
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia said that in 1987, the General Assembly of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) issued Resolution No. 24C/18.65 on the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth. The resolution affirmed:“The important and multifaceted contributions of President Ho Chi Minh in the fields of culture, education and art are the crystallization of the thousands of years of cultural tradition of the Vietnamese people, and his thoughts embody the aspirations of peoples wishing to affirm their cultural identity andto promote mutual understanding between peoples".
President Ho Chi Minh's ideology on education and training, modern educational methods and styles imbued with his traditional values, are truly the foundation, the compass to guide and direct the process of building and developing Vietnamese education, Vietnamese culture, the country and the Vietnamese people. That is the philosophy "An ignorant nation is a weak nation". That is the vision: "An education that will train you to become useful citizens for Vietnam, an education that fully develops your inherent abilities."
That is the motto: “If you do not study hard, you will not progress. Not progressing means regressing”; “If you want to know, you must compete to study. Learning is never ending. Study forever to progress forever. The more you progress, the more you see that you have to study more”. That is the method: “Learn at school, learn from books, learn from each other and learn from the people.”. That is the purpose: “Study to work, to be a human being, to be a cadre. Study to serve the community, to serve the class and the people, to serve the Fatherland and humanity".
"In the 80 years since the founding of the country, especially nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, our Party and State have always deeply recognized, steadfastly grasped and implemented Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, methods and style on education and training, with the consistent policy of considering education as the most important factor in education and training.“Education and training together with science and technology are the top national policies and the key driving force for national development.””. Vietnam's education and training system has achieved many important achievements in the cause of improving people's knowledge, training human resources, nurturing talents, contributing to creating great achievements of historical significance for the country, so that our country "Never before has there been such a foundation, potential, prestige and international position as today."”, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized.

New context requires new thinking
Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the world context is undergoing epochal changes, with unprecedented rapid and complex transformations towards multipolarity, multi-center, multi-level and strong division.
The new productive forces are developing strongly, posing both opportunities and challenges for countries. The Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor chips, robots, the Internet of Things (IoT)… is developing strongly and has a profound impact on all fields.
Domestically, the entire political system is implementing revolutionary strategic decisions on streamlining the organizational apparatus, reorganizing administrative units, developing science and technology, innovation, national digital transformation, and socio-economic development to strive to achieve the GDP growth target of 8% or more in 2025, creating a driving force for double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period.
Our entire Party, people and army are demonstrating the highest determination, making the greatest efforts, promoting all motivations and resources, liberating all potentials, clearing bottlenecks, bringing the country into a new era of development - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise; successfully achieving the goal by 2030, of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income; by 2045, of becoming a developed country with high income, following the socialist orientation.
The new context requires new thinking, action thinking, and action resolutions to create breakthroughs in education and training development, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, especially highly qualified human resources in new fields and professions.
The draft document of the 14th National Party Congress identifies the tasks and solutions: Innovating and synchronously perfecting the legal system, mechanisms and policies on education and training development; synchronously implementing the policy of "standardization, modernization, democratization, socialization and international integration”, with a focus on improving the quality of education and training.
On April 25, 2025, the Central Party Office issued Notice No. 177-TB/VPTW, Notice of the Conclusion of General Secretary To Lam at the working session with representatives of the Government Party Committee and Central ministries and branches on the implementation of the Central resolutions on education and training... The Notice clearly stated that it agreed to study and develop a Project to submit to the Politburo for promulgation of a resolution on breakthroughs in education and training development (similar to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo). This Resolution does not replace existing resolutions, but selects the most key issues and current major bottlenecks to focus on directing, creating clear and specific changes in the field of education and training.

Speaking at the workshop, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said: "Today's workshop once again affirms the great role of education in training personality and developing people. President Ho Chi Minh expressed important thoughts about humanity, showing a very humane view of people: "Good and evil are not inborn traits. Most of them are formed by education.
In recent times, our Party and State have always paid deep attention to and appreciated the role of education, so the education sector has achieved many great achievements. That is also a vivid demonstration of the inheritance and promotion of Ho Chi Minh's educational ideology."
Minister Nguyen Kim Son, Ho Chi Minh is not only a national hero, a great politician and cultural figure, but in the fullest and most representative sense, Ho Chi Minh is the greatest educator in modern times. 4 tasks of the education sector in the coming time
Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized: Faced with new requirements and tasks, the education and training sector needs to deeply imbue and effectively apply Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on education. President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, philosophy, educational spirit, spirit of learning and self-study, lifelong learning on education and training still retain their value and continue to be the guiding principle for the process of implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training today.
