What is the key to your success?
From your freshman year, find an internship that reflects your future. Right from the first years, I was aware of looking for internship opportunities. The jobs I aimed for were always related to my major and had an image of my future career.. My internship ratio changes over time, for example, in the first year I allocate according to the 80-20 rule (80% of time for studying, 20% for internships and collaborations). In the third year, the internship ratio gradually increases, taking up about 30-40% of my total time. Don't wait until your final year to do an internship, it's too late. During my internship, I always aimed for the personal goal of becoming an indispensable part of the unit, especially in the final year. "If you have a lot of experience and social relationships before graduating, you will easily get a good job," former student Nguyen Thu Huong shared. Former student Nguyen Thu Huong |
The key to success is to equip yourself with good professional skills and qualifications. Prepare yourself with good knowledge and skills in a major so you can confidently enter life after graduation. In addition, you should spend time reading books every day. Even if you are no longer studying in the classroom, you should still make a habit of reading an average of 30 minutes to 1 hour every day to absorb knowledge that you do not yet know. What is the key for first-year students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities?
"In society, beggars can still make a living, so why don't we, people trained at one of the most prestigious universities in the country, think about success?", former student Nguyen Minh Duc shared with students of the year. Therefore, the most important thing to reach success is to equip yourself with good knowledge to be ready to enter society. You need to awaken your passion in your field of study. Although Literature, History, and Philosophy are not our trends, success does not depend on the field of study but on you, what knowledge do you have in your head to serve society and the country? Former student Nguyen Minh Duc |
To be successful, consider social activities an indispensable part.. This is like we maintain two legs in a complete body, one leg participating in community activities, one leg maintaining academic and research results. Former student Nguyen Thu Huong shared: Students who participate in many social activities have a higher probability of success than other students. Former student Nguyen Thu Huong |
How do students use their keys?
Employers will find it difficult to grasp the details of the activities you participate in, they often pay attention to how you express it. To avoid falling into a cycle of activities, you should determine who you want to be in the future? What are your strengths and weaknesses? One way to achieve success is to focus on your strengths to become "unrivaled". Find activities that will serve you in the future and develop your strengths and assert yourself. Former student Nguyen Thu Huong |
Good personnel are always favored in the recruitment process. But how to become a good personnel? It is the choice to learn from small units and small jobs, gradually building a solid foundation for yourself. "To become the editor-in-chief of a newspaper today, I myself had to go through the stages of writing and selling newspapers for hire... This helps us have multi-dimensional perspectives on our future work," former student Nguyen Minh Duc shared. Former student Nguyen Minh Duc also added: "In today's era, if you have to ask your parents for money to get a job, you are a failure." Former student Nguyen Minh Duc |
Message for first year students of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU
30 years ago, my dream was to establish myself and make a career in Hanoi, but now, Hanoi is just a remote village in the world. Your job opportunities are global. Your generation is the generation of global citizens, so you need to equip yourself with knowledge, skills and foreign languages to be able to communicate, connect and expand opportunities. Former student Nguyen Minh Duc |
Be confident in expressing yourself, put aside the thoughts that you are inferior and must strive to reach success. The generations of alumni of the School will always open their arms to welcome you. Former student Nguyen Thu Huong |
