Attending the ceremony, on behalf of central and local agencies were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trieu Van Cuong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Rector of the University of Interior Affairs; Mr. Do Quoc Toan, Deputy Director of the Archives Department of the Central Party Office; Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Deputy Director of the State Archives Department; Dr. Tran Ba Chung, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators; Dr. Nguyen Duc Thuan, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Long Bien Group; representatives from agencies from the Office of the President, the Office of the National Assembly, the Office of the Government and the offices of the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Education and Training, Science and Technology, Interior, National Defense, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance... In addition, there were representatives of the leadership of National Archives Centers 1, 2, 3 and 4; representatives of the leadership of the archives branches of provinces and cities; Representatives from other universities in Hanoi.
Representing the university were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Rector; Dr. Dao Duc Thuan, Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management; representatives from the leadership of faculties, institutes, centers, and functional departments within the university; and current and former students, alumni, and trainees from various courses of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management.

Dr. Dao Duc Thuan, Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, delivered the opening remarks for the program.
The Department of Archival Studies and Office Management was established on June 6, 1996, building upon the achievements of the Department of Archival Studies, under the Faculty of History, Hanoi University. The department brings together nearly 20 highly qualified full-time staff members and dozens of part-time lecturers who are experts from various Ministries, Departments, and research institutions.
Over its 20-year development journey, the faculty has not only been a pioneering unit but has also consistently affirmed and maintained its position as a leading institution for training high-quality human resources at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, ranking first nationwide in the fields of archival studies and office management.
Aware of its position and mission as a leading institution, over the past 20 years, the faculty and students of the department have continuously strived to create remarkable changes. On behalf of the department, Dr. Dao Duc Thuan, Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, reported on some of the outstanding achievements the department has accomplished recently:
Over its 20-year development, the faculty's staff has grown from the initial 5 members to six times the number of full-time and part-time staff. Nearly 10% of them are now employed.100% of the teaching staff hold master's or doctoral degrees, and 40% hold the academic titles of professor or associate professor.
After becoming an independent entity,The department's training scale has increased tenfold.Each year, the department trains approximately 100 full-time students for both disciplines; around 20 postgraduate students and four to five doctoral candidates annually.
Over the past twenty years, the department has also expanded to offer various training programs. Currently, the department is offering training programs.It offers three levels of training from bachelor's to doctoral degrees in Archival Studies, two levels of training (bachelor's and master's degrees) in Office Management (the only unit in Vietnam offering postgraduate training in this field), and a higher level. Master's degree with an applied focus for the Archival Studies major.
OfficialsThe department has always been at the forefront of research, knowledge gathering, and knowledge creation in Archival Studies and Office Management.This is evidenced by the dozens of research projects at various levels in the fields of administration, textual studies, and archival studies that the department has implemented. The results of these projects are lectures, textbooks, learning materials, and applications in advising and consulting for agencies, organizations, and businesses...
In recent years,Almost 100% of the faculty's students have found jobs in government agencies, social organizations, and businesses.Of these, approximately 60% are employed in businesses.
Many former students of the department now hold important positions in the offices of Party and State archives, social organizations, and businesses at the central and local levels, or are reputable lecturers at many universities and colleges nationwide. These are the core forces in managing and safely preserving the national archival documents, a precious cultural heritage of the nation.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his confidence in the faculty's development in the coming period. He particularly placed his faith in several directions the faculty will pursue in the future, such as:"Training and research in modern archival science; promoting research and application in the field of office management, as this is a trend of interest in modern society; further strengthening international cooperation to support training and research in the coming time."

The Faculty Board expresses its gratitude to the generations of faculty leaders throughout the years.
At the ceremony, the faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management expressed their gratitude to the generations of leaders of the faculty throughout the years: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vuong Dinh Quyen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Ham, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Chuc, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phung, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong.
On behalf of the generations of lecturers in the department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phung delivered a speech, sharing her joy, pride, and gratitude towards the common home of Archival Studies and Office Management:For over a month, the festive atmosphere celebrating the faculty's anniversary has spread to every student and trainee, no matter where they are across the country. Many images have featured the symbol "The Vitality of 20 Years." Promises of "Come back! Come back!" were lively and heartwarming. Ideas for organizing events and support, both spiritual and material, were continuously sent to the faculty. And today, seeing the enthusiastic crowds entering the gates of 336 Nguyen Trai Street, I understand that this is truly a festival for the entire family of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management.

In his congratulatory remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Trieu Van Cuong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Rector of the University of Interior Affairs (a former student of the faculty), shared:"Over the past 20 years, the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management has achieved many accomplishments in research and training high-quality human resources in the field of document management and archiving for the whole country. I always think that we are the ones who train people to work in document management and archiving; this is a noble profession, only for those who are honest, dedicated, passionate, and undeterred by the prospect of a less lucrative or prestigious profession compared to others, but one that becomes more and more beloved the more they work in it."
Also at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Ba Chung, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators, in his congratulatory speech, emphasized the position and role of archival studies and office management in the operations of Vietnamese businesses.

Dr. Tran Ba Chung emphasized:We promise and commit to responsibly assisting all students of the faculty with the three main tasks of the Association: Receiving internships; gaining business experience; and after graduation, with a serious attitude, thorough learning, and passionate contribution of their skills, businesses and the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators will be ready to accept students from the faculty to participate in helping businesses develop stronger, more organized, and with better office and record-keeping practices."
At 20 years old, full of vitality, the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management still has much work to do and many things to improve. However, the entire department firmly believes that behind this 20-year history lies 50 years of tradition, the attention of the university leadership, and the support of departments, faculties, agencies, and organizations. The Department of Archival Studies and Office Management will continue to rise strongly to be a pioneering unit, leading the field of Archival Studies and Office Management, making a practical contribution to administrative reform, innovation, and national development.
