With 5 action programs implemented, namely: The "5 Good Students" Movement and the "Building a Humanistic Student Style" Campaign; Student counseling and support; Cultural and artistic activities, volunteer activities joining hands with the community; Coordination activities with the Youth Union and Activities of Clubs/Teams/Groups; Association work and student movements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the 2013 - 2016 term have achieved comprehensive results in all activities. The targets of the entire term have been basically completed, including many excellent targets. The action programs of the school's students in the past term have been actively and effectively implemented, contributing to improving the quality of training, training ethics, fostering skills, supporting life and comprehensive development of students, participating in building the school, and the Association organization has been consolidated and developed.
The Student Association of the school has focused on effectively implementing the "5 Good Students" movement and the "Building a Humanistic Student Style" campaign to a large number of members and students. After many years of implementation, up to now, members and students have been aware of the importance of the "5 Good Students" movement and have oriented more positive steps in training to achieve the title. The Student Association of the school and the Associations have had many forms of support for students to have the conditions to strive according to the criteria of a "5 Good Students" in all aspects, such as seminars on learning methods, scientific research, useful skill classes, exciting cultural - sports - arts and volunteer activities; Encourage members and students to develop comprehensive knowledge, especially knowledge of politics - economics - culture - society, foreign languages ... in addition to specialized knowledge through Clubs/Teams/Groups as well as competitions organized by the Student Association. At the end of the term, 110 students achieved the title of "5 Good Students" at all levels, of which 01 student achieved the title of "5 Good Students" at the Central level and 03 students achieved the "January Star" award.
The campaign "Building a Humanistic Student Style" has also been widely responded by members and students, bringing the image of young and serious students. The Student Union has come up with the idea and produced a lanyard product to propagate and encourage students to strictly follow the school's regulations; at the same time, deploying the sewing of uniforms for Union - Association officials (from the 2014 - 2015 school year) and students of the whole school (from the 2015 - 2016 school year), contributing to increasing the pride of being students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and bringing a beautiful image of the school's students to the hearts of foreign friends studying at the school as well as students of other schools. Launching the annual movement "Disciplined study, quality review, serious exams" at the end of each semester with funny, attractive and meaningful visual products to propagate and encourage students to strictly follow the regulations on studying and taking exams. The Student Union has coordinated with the Youth Union to organize the "Humanistic Ideas" contest and has launched the official logo, slogan, and website.www.youth.ussh.vnu.edu.vn, fanpage "Youth Union - USSH Student Association" of the school's youth, along with propaganda products about discipline, school civilization and traffic safety in a vivid and highly educational form.
Together with the Youth Union, the Student Association has actively contributed to the implementation of the strategic goal of improving the training quality of the school, with many measures to encourage students in the emulation movement of studying; actively searching for talents, promoting students' intelligence in scientific research; supporting students to develop professional skills; advising and supporting the lives of members. Seminars such as "New student luggage", "Learning methods at university level", "Student scientific research methods", ... or a series of skill classes "Safe driving", "Effective English learning", "Computer skills", "Teamwork", "Job search and job interview", ... have attracted a large number of interested students to participate. The “Green Torch” award for students with high achievements in scientific research on topics related to youth, young people, students, and the Youth Union and Association, presented by the Youth Union - Student Association of the school, also contributed to promoting the scientific research movement of students throughout the school. A highlight in the work of advising and supporting students in the last term was the coordination with the Youth Union to select 75 excellent students to participate in the “Young Vietnamese National Assembly” project organized by the British Council and the National Assembly Office. On that basis, a forum is being built to create an environment for students throughout the school to practice teamwork and presentation skills through debates on student and youth issues.

In the last term, the Student Association of the school oriented the units to host school-level activities on the basis of promoting their own internal strength, typically the Information and Library Faculty Association hosted the Competition "Student IT Skills - USSH IT Championship 2014" and "Humanities Book Festival - USSH Book Festival 2015", the Political Science Faculty Association hosted the Competition "Understanding the ASEAN Community". To welcome the 7th Congress of the Student Association of the school, the Associations of the Information and Library Faculty, the Archival and Office Administration Faculty, the Linguistics and Literature Faculty jointly hosted the "Humanities Book Festival - USSH Book Festival 2016". This is also a priority content in the annual emulation scoreboard of the units. In addition, at the LCH level, there are also many consulting activities that provide orientation, support for learning, scientific research, and exchange activities with employers, while promoting the professional strengths of the unit, taking place very actively, such as seminars on learning methods and scientific research, consulting on choosing a major or competitions to improve knowledge and skills, and professional expertise for students. Typical activities are "Hello major" (LCH Faculty of Oriental Studies), "Training in photography and filmmaking skills to study Visual Anthropology" (LCH Faculty of Anthropology), "Intellectual Property Competition - Connecting students with businesses" (LCH Faculty of Management Science), "Workshop on Secrets to Conquering Employers" (LCH Faculty of Information - Library), "Meeting Employers" (LCH Faculty of Tourism Studies), etc.
The Student Association has organized cultural, sports and volunteer activities with the community that are impressive in form, profound in content and have a wide influence, becoming a source of motivation to promote the enthusiasm, creativity and pioneering spirit of the members; at the same time, it directs and encourages units to organize activities with the colors of their students, at low cost, enriching the spiritual life of students. The highlight of the Association's work and the student movement this term is the organization of large-scale activities with a series of consecutive events, aiming to attract a large number of members and students to participate, at the same time, helping students to develop their full potential, linking the image of each member and student with the overall image of the program. Typical examples are “New Student Festival 2014” (with a series of events such as Membership Recruitment Day of Clubs/Teams/Groups, Freshman Luggage Seminar, Film Screening and Exchange with the Film Crew Living with History, USSH's Got Talent Student Talent Search Contest and Green Humanities Volunteer Festival); “Humanities Color Camp and Cultural Exchange” (with a series of exciting events such as Membership Recruitment Day of Clubs/Teams/Groups, Humanities Student Luggage Seminar, 336 Challenge Sports Game Series and Cultural Exchange) and “Humanities Youth” Festival (with major activities such as Humanities Pink Sunshine, Green Humanities, Healthy Youth).

“Spring of Love” is a special program organized for the first time to recreate the traditional Tet atmosphere with more than 20 adapted folk games. The program has attracted a large number of Vietnamese and foreign students studying at the school to participate, which is a good and meaningful opportunity for students to “live” in the atmosphere of the first days of the year of national traditions. The winning prizes in the games are exchanged for tools to make giant Tet greeting cards for teachers on the occasion of the New Year. In addition, the “Spring of Volunteering” corner has contributed to creating a source of funding for volunteer activities of the school’s youth through creative games. Activities that have become traditional such as the “Elegant Student – USSH Gralent” contest, the singing contest for staff and students, the “March Fragrance” cooking contest, the “Farewell to Summer” program, the “Men’s Soccer Tournament – USSH Champions League” and the “Women’s Soccer Tournament – USSH Cup”,… are increasingly attracting the attention and participation of a large number of students.
The Student Association has participated and achieved high results in competitions outside the school, contributing to promoting the image and affirming the talents of students, such as: National Student Literature - Sports - Fine Arts Competition in 2013, Student Song Journey in 2013, 2014, National Cheerleading Competition in 2014, I Love Hanoi Competition in 2013, 2014, Hanoi Student Singing Competition in 2013, VNU Elegant Female Student Competition in 2015, VUG National Student Sports Competition in 2015, 2016... and programs, reports broadcast on Vietnam Television and some other media channels.
The volunteer festival "Humanitarian blood donation and Green Humanity" is considered a new "specialty" of the Student Association of the school in recent times. The "Green Humanity" activity attracted nearly 600 volunteers/festival to participate in volunteering on the spot, with meaningful activities such as cleaning the computer room; cleaning the lecture hall, removing blackboard tape and pasting propaganda decals; cleaning stone benches, flower pots and whitewashing tree roots; exchanging paper for trees; cleaning and raising awareness of compliance with Traffic Laws at the school gate and pedestrian bridge and the 5K Recycling Project. In addition, with the establishment of the Humanitarian Blood Donation Youth Team, the humanitarian blood donation activity "Nang Hong Nhan Van" together with Green Humanity created a big festival for students of the whole school. The activity was organized with many consecutive events taking place before, during and after the festival. The series of attractive events attracted a large number of staff and students to participate, collecting 2,082 units of blood. The festival has continuously created a great buzz and has truly become a meaningful activity, at the same time, raising awareness of environmental sanitation, pedagogical landscape for the school and responsibility towards the community; becoming a big event that teachers and students look forward to every semester.
Activities to support students' learning and scientific research organized by the Youth Union and Student Association attract the attention of young people.
Along with focusing on on-site volunteer activities, the Student Association has organized many meaningful volunteer activities, at the same time, directed and supported units to organize volunteer activities related to expertise to promote the strengths of members and students, mobilize resources inside and outside the school, as well as, change to suit the current credit-based training of the school. The Green Summer Campaign in 2013, 2014, 2015 was successful with the contents set out in the plan. In addition to maintaining volunteer teams going far away with practical activities to support the locality with their own capabilities, the Student Association has built youth projects in places where there are footprints of volunteer students. Volunteer activities related to expertise are mandatory for each Association unit in this term and are highly appreciated in the emulation scoreboard. LCH Faculty of Information and Library with the mobile library project "Up", the project "Humanities Book Tree"; LCH Faculty of Psychology with the volunteer activity "Warm clothes for children"; and many other meaningful trips of units such as LCH Faculty of Sociology with "Loving Tet"; LCH Faculty of Archival Science and QTVP with "Childhood swallows"; LCH Faculty of Philosophy with "Nurturing green seeds - Sowing love"; LCH Faculty of Management Science with weekly activities to support children at SOS Children's Village, Hanoi;... are typical units in this activity. In addition, volunteer activities have become the "brand" of Clubs/Teams/Groups such as "Warm winter Ha Giang/Dong Van/Cao Bang", "Square Tet", "May knights" (Social Work Student Team), "Singing forever about you", "My dream journey" (Stone Flower Club), "Spring returns to Lao "Chai", "Spring to Ta Xua" (VTN Assault Team), "Ha Giang Smile" (Enactus Team) are always carried out effectively, maximizing the volunteer and shock spirit of the school's youth.
The Student Association also orients units to organize cultural, sports and aesthetic activities with the colors of the LCHs, such as: Open Drama Night of the Faculty of Literature (LCH Faculty of Literature), Oriental Night and Oriental Film Week (LCH Faculty of Oriental Studies), Gala to welcome World Tourism Day (LCH Faculty of Tourism Studies), Press Festival, Four Heroes Cup, Singing Press (LCH Faculty of Journalism and Communication), Miss & Mr Linguistics (LCH Faculty of Linguistics), 2! K58/K59/K60 and Dear K55/K56 (LCH Faculty of Information - Library), Melody of life (LCH Faculty of International Studies), International Cultural Festival (LCH Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language), Philosophy Gala (LCH Faculty of Philosophy), Online Sociology (LCH Faculty of Sociology), Save the Time Stream (LCH Faculty of History),...
The Student Union always closely coordinates with the Youth Union to build a unified, healthy environment, orienting members and students to firmly practice political ideology, specialize in scientific expertise; understand and be proud of the school with rich traditions they are studying. At the same time, the Student Union always focuses on promoting the core political role of the Youth Union, improving the quality of the Union organization, building a reasonable, dynamic and effective Union organization; especially focusing on improving the quality of branches and members. In the past term, the Student Association of the school hosted and coordinated many major activities such as the contest "Learning about Ho Chi Minh's ideology" at VNU level, the photo exhibition "Proud of Vietnamese students" on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the tradition of Vietnamese students, the talk show "Proud to be a student of VNU", the talk show "The story of peace - Career and integration", etc. The Student Association of the school has maintained the annual "Training Conference for Union - Association officials", however, innovated the organization method to equip truly useful skills for Association officials at all levels. The conference was divided into 3 main activities: training on Association affairs skills, exchanging contents on Association work and training on cheerleading skills, event organization skills, and teamwork skills for branch-level association officials. The new requirement for the Association's work and student movements of the units in the past term was to coordinate the organization of common activities; typically, the Association of Philosophy Faculties, Anthropology with the contest “Pride of Humanities Students”; Association of the Faculty of Philosophy, Management Science with the program “Memories of War”; Association of the Faculty of Information - Library, Journalism and Communication, Sociology, Philosophy, Anthropology with the “5K Recycling Project”...
The Student Union always attaches importance to building increasingly strong affiliated Clubs/Teams/Groups as a foundation for organizing and implementing movement activities; at the same time, continuing to promote and exploit the strengths of the Clubs/Teams/Groups as well as strengthening and developing more good, practical and effective models, meeting the requirements of the Association's work in the new period from the LCH to the Student Union. In addition to maintaining the effective operation of existing Clubs/Teams/Groups, the Student Union also focuses on promoting strengths and building new operational models in the direction of professionalization. During the 2013 - 2016 term, the Student Union officially established and put into operation 05 new Clubs/Teams/Groups, namely the Garnet Reception - Event Club, the Humanistic Vovinam Club, the Humanistic Blood Donation Youth Team, the SEG Event Organizing Student Club, and the Men's Football Club; bringing the total number of Clubs/Teams/Groups under the Student Union to 11. The Student Union also orients and encourages the development of club association models based on interests or expertise. For volunteer and charity activities, there are the Student Volunteer Shock Team, Student Social Work Team, Stone Flower Club, and Humanitarian Blood Donation Youth Team; for cultural, sports and artistic activities, there are the Rumbo Cheerleading Gymnastics Club, Sol Art Club, and Vovinam Club; for events, there are the Garnet Reception - Event Club, and the SEG Student Event Organizing Club. The Student Union also encourages the development of club/team/group models of the Faculty Association. Some typical models include the English Club (LCH Faculty of International Studies), Calligraphy Club and Cinema Club (LCH Faculty of Literature), Youth Tourism Club (LCH Faculty of Tourism Studies), Bollywood Club, Yosakoi Club (LCH Faculty of Oriental Studies), Book and Media Club, English and Media Club (LCH Faculty of Journalism and Communications), etc.

The achievements in the work of the Association and the student movement in the 2013-2016 term have marked the maturity and stability of the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, contributing to affirming the position, role and contributions of the Association in the political system of the school as well as in the general relationship between the Student Association of VNU and the Student Association of Hanoi City. The Student Association of the school is truly a training environment, a representative and a companion of each member and student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. For 3 consecutive years, the Student Association of the school has always achieved excellent results and was honored to receive the emulation flag for the leading unit in the work of the Association and the student movement of the Capital in the 2014-2015 school year.
Promoting the achieved results, in the upcoming 2016 - 2018 term, the activities of the Student Association of the school aim to continue to affirm the important position of the Student Association in the political system of the school, promote traditions, affirm the leading role in the Student Association movement of VNU and gradually promote the special characteristics of social sciences and humanities of the school's youth in the Association's work and student movements, build a strong Association, operate stably in the conditions of credit-based training, meet the needs of members and students, and contribute positively to the development of the school.
On March 25-26, 2016, the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term 2016-2018, will be held with the participation of 200 delegates, representing nearly 6,000 students of the school. So 6 Congresses - 15 years of building and developing the Student Association of the school have passed; to move forward, there are still many opportunities as well as many challenges waiting ahead, hopefully with creativity - connection - reaching out, members and students of the whole school will continue to build the Association's work and student movement worthy of the school's tradition and will always be the leading flag in the Student Association movement of VNU, the Student Association movement of the city and more./.
