Over the years, economic, cultural, and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Taiwan has made remarkable progress. Among Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam is one of the most trusted destinations for Taiwanese investors, making Taiwan the third largest investor in Vietnam.
The number of Taiwanese businesses investing and trading in Vietnam is increasing. The strong development of economic and trade cooperation, cultural and social similarities, and geographical proximity between Vietnam and Taiwan are important factors driving the demand for exchange and interaction in Taiwan among many Vietnamese students in recent years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), emphasized: “In the trend of integration, cooperation, peace, and friendship developing strongly both in breadth and depth among countries in the East Asian region, Vietnam and Taiwan have all the conditions and foundations to further deepen the relationship between the two sides.”

Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities has established and expanded cooperation programs with many universities in other countries - including Taiwan - to strengthen the exchange of lecturers and students, coordinate the organization of international seminars and conferences, and conduct scientific research. At the same time, it aims to strengthen and develop cooperative relations between Vietnamese and Taiwanese universities.”

The 2016 Taiwan Higher Education Fair took place over three days (March 20-22), featuring 38 leading universities from Taiwan. This was a great opportunity for Vietnamese students aspiring to study or work in Taiwan to learn about, network with, and choose suitable majors at these universities.
| Taiwan is known as an emerging industrial economy – an Asian dragon – thanks to its policies of developing high-quality human resources, focusing on education, science, and technology. This is the third time the Taiwan Higher Education Exhibition has been held in Vietnam, and the second time it has taken place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. It is currently estimated that there are over 4,000 Vietnamese students studying at universities in Taiwan. The majority of students are studying in the fields of science, engineering, and construction (34.88%); business administration (29.76%), with a small number of students studying in the fields of humanities and arts (20.18%). |
