Also attending the program were comrades representing the Youth Union and Association from the Central to the grassroots level: Mr. Trinh Minh Thai (Deputy Chief of the Central Youth Union Office), Mr. Vu Van Hai (Chairman of the VNU Student Association), Mr. Bui Xuan Lan (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Phuong Dong University). On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were comrades: Mr. Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the Youth Union), Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Association), Mr. Tran Duc Hoa (Vice President of the Student Association).
The atmosphere of the program was heated up when the opening ceremony began with performances from the clubs in the school. Different from the recent warm sunny days, the cold weather with a little drizzle seemed to bring more clearly the feeling of spring, the feeling of the moment of change of nature. It was that atmosphere that brought the students closer together, spreading the spirit of the festival.
16 teams representing 16 branches showed off their talent in designing giant New Year greeting cards. To get the design tools, the teams and students had to earn the corresponding lucky money by participating and winning in folk games. The folk games were arranged in three areas: Father's house, Mother's house, and Teacher's house. The teams and students could use lucky money coupons to exchange for card design tools or meaningful New Year gifts at the tools and gifts booth. The final products of the teams were 16 giant greeting cards that would be displayed and exhibited at the school afterwards.
Spring of Love is the first occasion for all students in the school to participate in games together, and it is even more meaningful when they are folk games - a traditional beauty that seems to only exist in the past. Names such as: Tug of war, Carrying palanquins to recite poems, Copying and copying, Leech release, O an quan, Capturing the flag, Dragon snake up to the clouds, etc. For many students, this is the first time they have experienced them. 21 folk games with different experiences not only bring carefree moments, refreshing smiles, not only are they an opportunity for students in the school to get close and connect, but more than that, these games have revived a traditional cultural space of the nation.
In addition to the three folk game areas, Spring of Love 2015 also has a “Spring of Volunteers” area - where you can join artisans in making colorful and shaped figurines for children, or wear traditional costumes of ethnic groups from all over the country… The money collected from these activities will be used for the “Spring of Volunteers” activities at the social protection center.
After more than three hours of hard work, 16 giant cards were displayed by the teams on the main stage of the program. In general, the teams used familiar images of the traditional Tet holiday of the nation such as firecrackers, green Chung cakes, apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, swallows, etc., but each team had its own idea and message to convey. The Political Science Faculty Association took the idea from lucky money envelopes with the theme "Reunion Tet", emphasizing the meaning of Tet as an occasion for the whole family to gather after a year of hard work and study. The Linguistics Faculty Association focused on the Tet holiday of the poor, with the wish for a warmer and more prosperous Tet for those in difficult circumstances. The Management Science Faculty Association brought the characteristics of Tet holiday of the two regions of the North and South with the yellow apricot blossoms and the bright peach blossoms, along with the desire for Tet holiday to unite all regions of the country. The Faculty of Journalism and Communication Association chose the colors of spring and Tet such as the green of banh chung, of the new vitality that is surging, the pink of peach blossoms, the yellow of apricot blossoms, the red of firecrackers, of lanterns, of loving hearts when spring comes. In addition, the highlight of the cards is also expressed by the teams through the art of calligraphy. The Faculty of Archives and Office Management Association chose the word "Nhan" with the message: each of us, whether big or small, rich or poor, always keep in mind the word "Nhan". The Faculty of Psychology Association chose the word "An" with the wish for a new year of peace and prosperity for every family...
More than smiles, “Spring of Love” has brought Tet closer to students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, reviving the traditional cultural spaces of the nation right here. This is also an opportunity for students to express their feelings, to say messages and wishes for the upcoming new year.
