Good news: VNU-USSH students will continue to receive scholarships from the Oesol Foundation and SJ Tech Company for the years 2024-2025.

This was a positive gesture from the Korean partners during a meeting with the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) this afternoon, April 15, 2024.
Continuing the Oesol Foundation and SJ TECH Vietnam Company, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, was represented by Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector, along with leaders from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Political and Student Affairs Office, and the Cooperation and Development Office.
Representing the partner organization were Mr. Choi Myung Sik - Chairman of the Oesol Foundation, and Mr. Park Sang Joo - General Director of SJ TECH Vietnam.

Expressing his honor at receiving a warm welcome from the university's leadership, Mr. Choi Myung Sik stated that the Oesol Foundation and SJ TECH Vietnam have had effective cooperation activities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities over the years. The Foundation has awarded numerous scholarships to students majoring in Korean Studies and the Faculty of Oriental Studies over the past two years, helping them to better pursue their studies and passion for researching Korean culture and language. During the meeting, the President of the Oesol Foundation expressed his desire to continue the agreement with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to provide even more scholarships for VNU-USSH students. Accordingly, in 2024-2025, the Foundation will award 72 scholarships to outstanding Korean Studies students, students overcoming difficulties, and students with outstanding student union activities, totaling 24 million won (approximately 430 million VND).
Sharing his emotion at the special attention given to the development of students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities by the Oesol Foundation and SJ TECH Vietnam, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan stated that the cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Oesol Foundation, SJ TECH Vietnam, and many other Korean organizations and businesses has contributed to strengthening the good relationship between Vietnam and Korea.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is proud to be the first university in Vietnam that not only trains but also researches the Korean language. Each year, the Department of Korean Studies, part of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, trains 60 students; the university's lecturers study and conduct research at many major universities in Korea and continue to instill in students a passion for learning and researching the language, culture, and history of "the Land of Kimchi." Scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, have participated in numerous research activities on Korea and published research papers on the culture and history of the country.
Previously, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was a partner institution that received numerous scholarships from Korean organizations and businesses, such as the KF-Samsung Foundation and the Lotte Scholarship, and welcomed many high-ranking Korean leaders on visits.
