Five more teachers receive Ho Chi Minh Prize and State Prize

On the morning of February 18, 2012, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Science and Technology held the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology 2010 award ceremony.

Five more teachers receive Ho Chi Minh Prize and State Prize
On the morning of February 18, 2012, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Science and Technology held the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology 2010 award ceremony.This time, the awards were given to 176 scientists who are the authors of 32 works and clusters of works in 5 fields: natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, medicine, agriculture, and engineering; of which 12 works and clusters of works won the Ho Chi Minh Prize, 20 works and clusters of works won the State Prize for Science and Technology. In this award ceremony, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) had 02 teachers awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and 03 teachers awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology, namely: 1. Late Professor Tran Quoc Vuong (Faculty of History): Ho Chi Minh Prize for the cluster of works Vietnamese Culture: tradition and modernity. 2. Professor Ha Minh Duc (Faculty of Journalism and Communication): Ho Chi Minh Prize for the cluster of works Ho Chi Minh's literary and journalistic career and some theoretical and practical issues of Vietnamese culture and arts. 3. Professor Doan Thien Thuat (Faculty of Linguistics): State Prize for the work on Vietnamese Phonetics. 4. Professor Nguyen Thien Giap (Faculty of Linguistics): State Prize for the work on Vietnamese Words and Vocabulary. 5. Associate Professor Nguyen Thua Hy (Faculty of History): State Prize for the work on Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th - 18th - 19th centuries. Thus, up to this point, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has had 10 teachers awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and 16 teachers awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that all the works and clusters of works awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize this time are excellent and valuable works, the result of hard work, intellectual dedication and talent of scientists.
