Attending the scholarship awarding ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, there was Mr. Bui Van Linh (Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs). On behalf of Lotte Group and Lotte Scholarship Fund, there was Mr. Hud Sung Kwan (Chairman of Lotte Scholarship Fund). On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs).
The 22nd Lotte Scholarship was awarded to 78 students from 8 universities in Hanoi, including 05 students majoring in Oriental Studies at the University. The students receiving this scholarship have made efforts to overcome difficult family circumstances to achieve excellent academic and training achievements.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hud Sung Kwan (Chairman of Lotte Scholarship Fund) said that he hopes this scholarship will be a motivation for students to make more efforts and realize their ambitions in life. He also advised students to set a clear goal for themselves and steadfastly pursue that goal. In addition to encouraging students to study, the Chairman of Lotte Scholarship Fund advised students to develop relationships to open wider doors to the future. "This is very important because no one can do everything alone" - Mr. Hud Sung Kwan said.
The Lotte Scholarship Awarding Ceremony is held twice a year, demonstrating Lotte Group’s desire to contribute to community activities and social responsibility. At the same time, the group’s leaders also hope that today’s excellent graduates will become the next generation of Lotte Group’s member companies in the near future.
Sharing her feelings after receiving the Lotte scholarship, student Hoang Hong Ngoc, class K61 Korean Studies shared: “As one of the five students receiving the Lotte scholarship, I feel very happy and proud. The scholarship will be a great motivation for me to continue to strive, study and practice.”
The Lotte Foundation was established in 1983, awarded to students with difficult family circumstances but achieving high results in study and research. In 2008, the Lotte Foundation came to Vietnam and through meaningful scholarships, the Foundation has become a trusted companion for university students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In the future, Lotte Group promises to pay more attention and invest in the country's young talents.
