The Taiwanese university delegation included representatives from 6 universities: National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Political Science, National Tsinghua University, National Cheng Kung University. Prof. Cheng-Chih Wu (President of National Taiwan Normal University) led the delegation.
Introducing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh shared information about 24 undergraduate training majors and 72 postgraduate training majors at the school. Among more than 300 foreign partners, the school has established cooperative relations with many major universities in Taiwan such as Kaohsiung University, Wenzao University of Foreign Studies, Donghua University... In charge of research and teaching about China in general and Taiwan in particular, the school has two units: the Department of Chinese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Center for Chinese Studies. The school also has the Taiwan Education Center with the function of promoting exchange and cooperation programs with Taiwanese partners. Every year, the Center organizes a Taiwan education exhibition to introduce study opportunities in Taiwan to young Vietnamese people. The school is currently implementing an internationalization strategy in all areas of operation by building training programs according to international standards; inviting foreign scientists to teach and give presentations; Strengthen international publications and announcements...
Professor Cheng-Chih Wu said: The Taiwanese government has issued policies requiring Taiwanese universities to approach and cooperate with universities in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. Taiwan and Vietnam have similarities in culture and development history, so there are many advantages to building cooperative relationships, especially in the field of higher education.
The leaders of both sides mentioned the potential for cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Taiwanese universities in the fields of: student exchange, building short-term and long-term joint training programs, publishing scientific publications, exchanging experiences in building international-class scientific journals... Research contents that both sides may have common interests in include: challenges of higher education in the 21st century, the relationship between Taiwan (China) and Southeast Asian countries, internationalization of university activities, research on the Vietnamese community in Taiwan...
